Using the DCS Open Beta version 2.7.4.9847

In the FC3 Special Menu it only shows the Standard Cockpit.

 

I copied the files into the liveries folder as described in the readme text.

 

Any ideas what could be the problem?

No idea .. @Devrim cockpits work for me, this is on the latest Openbeta:

 

 

 

I store them on this folder:

 

 

Check your paths, they are case sensitive and for the MiG-29 there are three folders, depending on its version.

Good to see you around here. I have some minor issues: the latest beta patch seems to broke the mod to some degree. The labels for the instruments are still in english,but the HUD is now in cyrilic again. This affects all 3 Mig models. Maybe you can have a look at it.

Mate, your issue is not related this mod.

Please check OPTIONS > GAMEPLAY page > Avionics Language.

I think it's Native right now. Change it English and fly.

There is no texture in the packs, just a description.lua, plus to get it to work the folders cannot be named 'default'

Could you please tell me the steps of your install process?

Hi

I had same issue with all MIG29

to make it work
i had to rename Default folder under all MIG folder with "English", and replace in description file the path with new folder name, replacing default with English

I'm afraid I'm having similar issues to some already posted.

I have standalone Mig-29 on Steam.

Did the following

*Downloaded mod (DEVRiM_DCS_MiG-29_CompleteEnglishCockpitMod_v1.3b) and installed to directory specified in readme (C:\Users\****\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries).

*Went into DCS and tried selecting English cockpit, but English wasn't an option

*Went into the C:\Users\***\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29S folder and renamed the Default folder to English

*Went back to DCS and could select English for the MIG-29S (the others had no English option still)

*Flew the MIG-29S, but cockpit still in Russian

*Went and renamed the 29G and 29A Default folders to English in  C:\Users\***\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries folder.

*Went back to DCS and could select English for the G and A, but neither cockpit was in English

*Went and changed the description.lua files to refer to Cockpit_MiG-29S/English for both the G and A.

*Went and flew G and A but both still in English

What am I doing wrong?

I don't remember doing so many actions to install Devrim's cockpits .. I placed them on this path:

 

Note on the left side, that I installed it for all versions of the Mig-29.

They do show up on the Options Special window:

 

 

In game, this is the MiG-29S:

 

 

and this is the MiG-29A:

 

 

I'm on latest DCS 2.7 openbeta, and if Devrim's cockpit work for me, then they should work for you .. check their install instructions and make sure that your DCS is actually using the /Saved Games/ path ... if yours use the /My Document/My Games/ path then you need to adjust the instructions to match your paths.

I'm not using the beta, I wonder if that changes anything?

Aside from you using the \dcs.openbeta\liveries directory and me using the \DCS\Liveries, there isn't much difference, that I can see.

No, that shouldn't be a problem.

Main issue we have is about Steam users. I don't know what the problem is.

The SU-25T English cockpit works fine. Is is just the Mig-29 that has an issue in Steam?

A few posts back you said that you were installing the custom cockpit for the MiG-29S, but on your mission you are flying the MiG-29A ?

Can you please show a screenshot of what is inside this folder:

C:\Users\User\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\Cockpit_Cockpit_MiG-29A ?

Inside you should have a folder for the english cockpit, can you also show what files it contains?

Hi guys.

I re-enabled my FC3 module.

I see that ED has fixed a bug of Customized Cockpit menu. Last year no any cockpit name was working except the "default" name. So I uploaded the mod with "default" folder names, but now, "English" name will work in game. (I should check my other mods also.)

So, I updated the mod and uploaded.

NOW: I have OpenBeta version and FC3 module and I confirm that this mod is working without problem.
BUT: I have no idea why Steam and/or standalone versions don't work. There must be another bug on that side, I guess. Anyways, I'll be pleased if you try v1.3c version of my mod and feedback if it works with Steam and standalone versions of Mig-29.
