Spacehamster Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I have noticed that most onboard systems on the Mi8 only work once the engines are running. Is there a way to get these things running before the engines are on? By using external power? And if so, what switches would I have to use for that?
Pocket Sized Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Something that will bring a few of them up is the APU generator. The switch for it is just to the right of the battery switches. DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.
msalama Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 External AC and DC both have to be switched on. The switches are on the RH wall panel near the battery switches & you also need to ask the ground crew for external power beforehand. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

You could also use just external AC powers and then turn on the batteries, then turn on external AC power, then turn on the inverters.

AlphaOneSix Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Gah! I meant rectifiers! I've been working on a Bell 412 for the last couple of weeks so I have inverters on the brain. Sorry.
