Harke Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 select 2 bombs, and 3 bombs gone on the first pass with 82
gavagai Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 When I select 2 only 1 drops. No matter what ripple I select only 1 drops. Thanks for reporting. vparez Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 But this doesn't happen always, right? I had one instance last night when my ripple of 4 actually dropped 5 MK20s. However it doesn't appear to happen every time.
microvax Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 negative g during release ? I think that stops release. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?
Harke Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 negative g during release ? I think that stops release. no, 1G like on the screen
Flagrum Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I noticed it as well - but had not the patience to dig deeper into it. I _think_ it occured after the first drop of 2 MK-82, then at the second pass, it dropped 3 ... but it may or may not be that a auto-rearm (unlim. weapons, yea, shhhh!) happened in-between the two passes. And I also was a bit puzzled that I could not select a single bomb to be dropped - only pairs (2, 4, ...). Was that always this way (with MK-82)?
Frederf Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Unlimited weapons might confuse the system. "00" bombs should drop a single and "02" should drop a pair except for weapons which are restricted to singles like LGB. I have suspicions toward those dual racks as being more complex. Given a configuration of weapons (1) X B B B X B B B X X (10) Release order is 2, 8, 4, 6, 3, 7 when released "00" as 6 events. However the release order when "02" is selected is: 284, 637 instead of the expected 28, 46, 37. But if we set the bomb spacing to 10m (or anything higher than 0m) then the bombs are released 28, 46, 37. So it's a 0m spacing problem? It gets weirder. If we release a single bomb so our config is 34678 what do we expect if we release 02 bombs at 00m? Same behavior? Nope! We get two bombs 84. Now our config is 637. What happens if we drop 02/00m again? We get 637 released, one too many. What if we drop from 234678 config 04/00? We get 2846 with 37 remaining as expected. Summary: The issue appears only when 00m is selected as bomb spacing. Extra bombs are released if 02/00 is used in certain configs but not others which seem to be related to natural sets (28 and 4637). If the 02 bombs happen across natural sets (e.g. 84) then the issue is not seen. If I had to guess it's some counting error where natural sets are being released on the first pulse as if they are one bomb and the second bomb is being taken from the next bomb in the list. The result is three when it should only be two. Exhaustive testing would be to check from each reasonable bomb remaining count (6, 5, 4, 3, 2) what the behavior is when releasing with 00 or 02 or 04 setting both with 00m set and with 00m not set for spacing. One could safely skip bomb release quantities equal or greater than bombs remaining as it appears this bug is only seen to release more than the set quantity.
