golfsierra2
It was posted already some months ago, but once a while some Newbies ask which version, which patch etc. This is for your orientation: http://www.squadmap.lockonskins.co.uk/Versions-2.jpg Lowres http://www.squadmap.lockonskins.co.uk/Versions-1.jpg Hires Developers main page is here: http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?lang=en but you have to register to access the DL-area. Be also aware that FC is available as CD- and DL-version, so be carefull which patches you choose ! kind regards, Raven.... WhiskeyRomeo
I think I understand the purpose of that chart and its a great idea - but it's very confusing. And Im not a rookie. Why is there a even "recommended option" for ver 1.01 and ver 1.11? That needs an explaination for sure. Also I don't see any notes on Flaming Cliffs download version vs the CD version using different patches. Can you think of a way to simplify that chart? Maybe just 6 lines - (1)The ideal upgrade path for someone just getting started with ver 1.0 (2)The "history" of all past upgrades to reach ver 1.02. (3)The ideal upgrade path for someone just getting started with Flaming Cliffs (4)The "history" of all past upgrades to reach ver 1.12a. (5)LockOn Gold upgrade path to ver 1.12a (including replacement disk #2) (6)BlackShark upgrade path. Of course all the rookies will be using the "ideal upgrade path". They don't need to bother with interim patches like 1.01 and 1.11/1.12. Is there another chart that will help a rookie figure out which version he actually has? That question comes up fairly often such as when someone says he has version 1.2 when he really means 1.02. It will only get worse when there actually IS a ver 1.2. :joystick: Maybe a 2nd chart with pictures something like this forum post would be a good idea.
