I don't understand why someone dosnt just make a headset like the olympus Eyetreks they has a few years back (glasses with the equivalent of a 32 inch screen in them)....like these http://www.vrealities.com/eyetrek.html You could build in some motion tracking stuff like the new nintendo Wii (lol) pads, an there you have it, plus you could look around normally without having to get used to the way you do it with trackir.

Just my 2c worth anyway

1. Making the pixels small enough to get a decent resolution is a REAL challenge.

2. There's still no peripheral vision. So it's kind of pointless.

Has anyone succeeded in making a curved LCD screen yet?

. . . . . actually, has anyone had reason to try? :P

There's not a lot of peripheral vision on a 19 in monitor either...

I've never tried a 3D set, but I have an old victorian viewer for the 3D stereo sets they used to make then & I've made a few 3D screen captures from FC - it looks realy good in 3D - you can pick planes up against the ground better & it all just generally looks more more real - even without a 220 degree field of vision.

If anybody has a viewer there are a few sites with stereo sets of BS available. the 3D cockpit looks great in 3D.

A word of warning though - the first site I found had the images transposed ...

Cheers.
