Why doesnt the russian planes have flight path marker on the HUD like the american ones? I tried to land in the afm su25, and I REALLY needed it.. What do the russians use instead?

Dear Sticky,

Russian flight path marker works bit different. It doesn't point the projected course your jet is heading towards but the current one.

HOWEVER, some russian aircraft do have western style HUD symbology. Dunno if its a new trend, but it might reflect the need for more clear and explicit SA need for new standards.

Hmph. And here I thought the answer was, just like G-suits and parachutes, flight path markers are for pansies. Real men like Russian fighter pilots don't need 'em. ;)

Well, technically speaking only the ACES II has a parachute that can be accesed, so when there is some kind of non-imediate, emergency requiring egress, the American pilot could start cutting loose the chute from the headrest, and eventually, with lots of agony, jumping out of the cockpit. But it would require the Mythbusters to prove it's actually possible :p

Love the new sig Kenan...

Thank you. And the mods like it to. They even bothered to send me PM just to tell me that. Here's the excerpt:

Kenan,

I absolutelly LOVE your new siggy!

Me and the guys are thrilled you decided to put us there, there was even some fighting among us about who goes to the top of the list and who got the most warnings issued.

We had to calm down BIOLOG as he was persistant he should be on the top, not Wags, but we promised him if he behaves and spamms you with couple of more of those warnings, he'll be bumped up in no time.

Anyway, hope to see you around m8! I hope the siggy will do some good promotion for us and the rest of the community learns about our hard work and efforts in making this place, a lovely place to be™.

Love,

- JJ.

I've just uploaded a tutorial that you might find helpful, though the aircraft flown is the T-Frog (aka T-bird). It shows you how to land RUSFOR aircraft without relying on the ILS. You'll find it on the Flight Basics page of my site.
