jocko417 Posted December 22, 2016 Share Posted December 22, 2016 Not a bug, a request... if this is already in progress just ignore me :) We need an 8-digit tail # in the mission builder for Spits. As it is now you have to paint the first two digits of the aircraft serial on the skin, so they remain the same for all aircraft, and then the tail # populates the numbers based on the three digit code letters entered. If the Code Letters are just that, letters, you get "999" for every serial number. We need an 8-digit tail number, so a Spit marked AN-J, serial JF579 could be entered into the mission editor as "ANJJF579" and have every character populated with a different editable character. Please consider :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

71st_AH Rob Posted December 24, 2016 Share Posted December 24, 2016 Either this or for all aircraft two fields: One for serial number and One for squadron code. This could work for all a/c from the 109 to the Sabre to modern fighters with some airforces. If the squadron code is not required for a particular a/c it could be left blank and would not show up. jocko417 Posted December 28, 2016 Author Share Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) In a perfect world we'd be able to choose between AB-C on both left and right sides, as well as AB-C on the left and C-AB on the right... :) ED has chosen to have the codes arranged so that the two letter squadron code is always in front of the fuselage nationality marking. This is ok, but there is ample photo evidence of aircraft marked so that the two letters are on the "left" side of the roundel when read left to right on both port and starbord sides of the aircraft. (Confused yet?) :) See this post for pics: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2992590&postcount=3 Maybe 11 characters, using some sort of placeholder character ie: ANJJF579ANJ~~~ vs. ANJJF579~~~JAN so the game knows how to arrange the letters on both sides and which mapping locations to use? Captain Orso Posted December 29, 2016 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Ideally there should be 3 fields: Squadron ID: 2 characters [A-Z,0-9] Aircraft ID: 1 charactera [A-Z,0-9] Airframe S/N: 5 characters [A-Z,0-9] The skinner decides what he does with this input. 71st_AH Rob Posted December 29, 2016 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Even better! Three fields would also work better for the Luftwaffe but you need to add all the strange characters as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Roblex Posted June 19, 2017 Share Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) I thought we already had this. I type in 'USRRO810' in the mission editor and I get US@R on the fuselage and 'RO810' near the tail as shown in the picture below. I don't know much about the scripts used in the livery description but it looks to me as if it can be adapted to give 4 numbers in the code if that is what you need but 3 is usual. livery = { {"SpitfireIX", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"SpitfireIX", 1 ,"SpitfireIX_NMtest",false}; {"SpitfireIX", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_0", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_0", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_0", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_L_00", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_00", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_00", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_L_000", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_000", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_000", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_0", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_0", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_0", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_00", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_00", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_00", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_000", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_000", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_000", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_N", 0, "SpitfireIX_Blank", false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_N", 2, "SpitfireIX_SPEC", false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_N", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_NN", 0, "SpitfireIX_Blank", false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_NN", 2, "SpitfireIX_SPEC", false}; {"NUMBER_L_F3_NN", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_R_0", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_0", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_0", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_R_00", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_00", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_00", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_R_000", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_000", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_000", DECAL ,"Sky Codes",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_0", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_0", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_0", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_00", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_00", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_00", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_000", 0 ,"SpitfireIX_Blank",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_000", 2 ,"SpitfireIX_SPEC",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_000", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_N", 0, "SpitfireIX_Blank", false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_N", 2, "SpitfireIX_SPEC", false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_N", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_NN", 0, "SpitfireIX_Blank", false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_NN", 2, "SpitfireIX_SPEC", false}; {"NUMBER_R_F3_NN", DECAL ,"Night Serials",false}; {"pilot_RAF", 0, "pilot_raf", false}; {"pilot_RAF", 1, "pilot_raf_nm", true}; {"pilot_RAF", 2, "pilot_raf_spec", true}; {"pilot_RAF_helmet", 0, "pilot_raf_helmet", false}; {"pilot_RAF_helmet", 1, "pilot_raf_helmet_nm", true}; {"pilot_RAF_helmet", 2, "pilot_raf_helmet_spec", false}; {"pilot_RAF_helmet_glass", 0, "pilot_raf_helmet_glass", true}; {"pilot_RAF_parachute", 0, "pilot_p51_parachute", true}; } name = "RAF Day Fighter 56" countries = {"UK",} Edited June 19, 2017 by Roblex ============================================================================================================================== 56sqn US@R Diary of a hopeless Pilot Officer http://roblex56raf.livejournal.com NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 16Gb RAM, Intel Core i3/i5/i7 6xxx @ 2700 MHz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
