Why the taxi light isn't centered?

My theory is all "straight ahead" lights in DCS are following a vector from model center (0,0,0) through their lightsource x,y,z. The lights seem to be going radially outward.

Even the A-10 light goes a little to the side because the nose gear strut is off center.

So the question like in the title. I noticed that the light isn't centered and it depends on to which side I turn like on my screenshots.

First after right turn, and second after left turn.

They also cut-off at a specific distance as if there was an invisible wall that stops light suddenly instead of fading off into the distance.

Months or possibly years ago the light data was exposed in a lights.lua which was easily edited. This allowed one to play with the values: color, direction, width, cutoff distance, brightness.

I have to conclude there is a huge amount of untapped potential in the landing/taxi lights currently in DCS.
