Guest IguanaKing
Here's the first constructive criticism of that site. They need to post MUCH bigger, higher-res photos of some of the major details. They should focus on the 'pit, landing gear, engines, and the rivet detail on the fuselage. A model in that scale holds a lot of promise, but I'm skeptical...since the price is so low and the detail of the screen-shots is so poor. To be clear, $104 is WAY TOO HIGH for a GI Joe model, which is what the screen shots make it look like. But for a high-fidelity model, $104 is a suspiciously low price. I paid $104 for a 1:32 A-10A, and its worth every penny. Show me some details, or even an assembly manual, I might buy it. Until then...get lost! hitman
Theres a place down Old Colorado City that sells these same exact aircraft, Ive bought a few of them Dragon models there and for the price...they are worth every penny for the details they show. I only had one problem with them and the F-14s looked horrible because plastic doesnt bond well to metal all that well without any glue. Those models I bought them for 50 bucks each and theyre all 1-72 scale. The ones they are showing are large die-cast aircraft that are airbrushed very nicely. Ill see if I can find a pic of my F-15E in my photobucket deal.
hitman
No longer have them...but... http://www.badcataviation.com/favfussni201.html Only beef I had with this one was the canopy didnt sit flush with the pit but the canopy opens up. http://www.badcataviation.com/fvfredri1drm.html This model was complete and utter Crap. The intakes were molded wrong and the canopy was crap too. Canopy opened. Limited amount of weapons to mount. That went with all the F-14xx models they had. http://www.badcataviation.com/ffifa2natime.html This one..well its small. Aside from that its beautiful. Tiger striped paintjob. They dont have the -E model I have but Ill vouch for it as being top quality. The ONLY beef I had with it were the weapons mounts on the stations. They break too easily so keep one pair of weapons on display next to it. Came with 2 Durandals and 2 Mk24's, 2 AAMRAAM's and 2 Aim9x.
Guest IguanaKing
Oh...if they're die-cast metal I'll definitely stay away from them. Die-cast simply doesn't give enough detail for me.
hitman
Oh they have detail. :)
Guest IguanaKing
Yes, they do...but not enough. Give me a die-cast model in 1/32 in which I can control the detail of the individual brake pistons on the main landing gear....... Heh...just an example...but it sure makes the kit much more of a challenge to build if you can control those features.
hitman
I just might go hit up hobby lobby today and get that B-1B 1-32 scale and start building it. "IF" they still have it. And Ill have to find a place to put it.
