DCS World Weekend News Update Discussion

Well it's normal that you have to wait for modules and maps as they take quite a lot of time to develop.

DCS 1.5 is in the OpenBeta state since September/October 2015 IIRC :)

And Nevada map since A-10C standalone back in 2011 - if I´m right.

Was rejected and put back into fresh developement - but nonetheless same project.

I have no problmes with this, byt 3rd party developers should have better opportunities to schedule updates to their products.

The AJs37 Viggen has been put on hold for confirmed bugfixes for 4 weeks now. Last fridays introduction of the Viggen to DCSW 2.0 was a nogo for many of us.

Regardless I´m probably going to get the Normandy map, but it´s does not always look as focus is on the most important part (at least for us as consumers) to get the available stuff to work as bug free as possible before adding new stuff.

I just hope this additional delay doesn't push 2.5 to the end of the year....

First 2.5 delayed

Then 1st quarter before Normandy releases and they get back to it.

Then April

Then May

I mean I get it 2.5 is free and they need money so Normandy.

But I have been holding out on Nevada because of waiting for the merge.

I really don't want to start being negative but....

I would rather 2.5 be just the new caucuses and merge with no new clouds or explosions if it means getting it earlier.

But I really doubt that will be the case.

I REALLY hope the hornet isn't dependent on 2.5 in any way.

The release of DCS1.5 was delayed for about 9 months so I guess its probable, that 2.5 will be released in autumn.

Actually, it was 2010 as I just had to look up my A-10C binding.

Hornet not coming out this year, just watch. Thats the norm I seen around here, after a release they spend 1/2 a year to a whole working on full release( Alpha to Full release). Even thought they are different team and all. Don't get your hopes up.

I think there wont be anything "major" in the pipe until after the Normandy map is released. Unless there is some surprise that we're not aware of.

How about pre-sale start for the P-40 today? That would be something big! :)

I rather want to see the Viggen updated in 1.5 than another buggy 2.0 update where a number of modules no longer works.

Well they still need to fix the last 2.0 build, the last one seems like it was a disaster. And there are tons of updates that need to be done for all the modules.

Agreed. I think this will be the most anticipated news of the week.

Plenty of big things they could announce today. 2.5 Merge, New explosion effects, New Netcode, New damage modelling, F/A-18, Caucasus 2.0 version, Mi24 module etc etc.

Dream bigger, people...

f-18 news will come after normandy is released in may, so there won't be any news msot likely.

blacksea 2.0 will also come after normandy. dream small for this week :)
