Somehow when the stick was announced and when I pre-ordered, I was under the impression that the center mount has a lot more throw. Isn't that the case anymore? That backward-bent extension is what I was looking forward to.

Hi Mbot,

The curved extension has never been available to order and only appeared in our earliest renders (before the pre-orders had started).

It was dropped in favour of our modular extension set due to those being much more versatile! But with enough demand it could be something we'll work on providing in the future.

The image you've quoted from the unboxing shows the MongoosT-50 Flightstick without any extension installed.

17 July 2017 // Announcement No. 17

► VirPil Controls at MAKS 2017

July 18-23 2017, the International Aviation and Space Exhibition MAKS 2017 will take place at the Russian Central Test Base airport (Mikhail Gromov Flight Research Institute). About 800 companies from more than 30 countries of the world are going to participate in this event.

In addition to the demonstrations of aircraft and helicopters from the event participants, eight teams are also expected to participate in a series of aerobatic displays. Undoubtedly, the attention of all aviation specialists and media will be riveted to the town of Zhukovsky over these next few days.

Of course, there will be also something interesting to see for virtual pilots as well.

In Pavilion D9 at the Constanta Design Company Stand #14, where their product lineup (software solutions in the field of image generation for next-generation imaging systems) will be shown, all spectators can try to fly at one of the two experimental setups "Aviadarts VR" which are simulators of the Su-27SM2 fighter.

The proprietary software of Constanta Design (landscape, objects of the world, visualization system, aircraft module), virtual reality helmet (VR) and control system consisting of stick, throttles and tri-axial pedals F2 (Su-35) from BRD, which became already classics and well-known by virpils from all over the world.

We are proud to announce, that together with software and devices with such high-profile names, the VPC MongoosT-50 Grip and the VPC MongoosT-50 Throttle (prototype) produced by VirPil Controls are installed in the simulators!

This is a very exciting moment for us: here, at MAKS, the first official take-off of VirPil Controls to the virtual sky will take place. We are sure that you will all feel how much time, effort and love was invested by the team to the project and we truly believe that VPC's quality products will take a worthy place in your home cockpits.

During the opening hours of the air show (10:00 - 18:00), VirPil Controls team members will work on the stand. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with VPC products, learn about future developments, ask questions and test the devices.

Welcome to MAKS 2017!

When I read the describtion of the T-50 stick on the Virpil homepage/shop there is written that "Mounting can be achieved through a number of configurations, on the desk with the VPC Deskplate, center or side mounted with the VPC Desk Mount to create the VPCockpit, or floor mounted."

Is the deskplate available? I think a deskplate should be included in the backage of stick and base.

Ah that is an old description - I'll get this updated. The desk plate is currently on to the backburner due to the MongoosT-50 being impractical as a desktop stick.

Nice! You guys should definitely look into making American style grips - judging by the TM F-18 grip bandwagon, you will get quiet a lot of people buying them (and unlike VKB, your grips are compatible with TM bases so you will get some of Warthog/Cougar users jumping in to buy them).

Teaser? Hype? A new introduction?

Just a few possible. reasons.

Z...

Given how similar Virpil and VKB's modern grips are, I think it's possible Virpil might produce KG13 grip at some point in the future.

My bet: BAUR KG-13B grip. ;)

Possible, but why would Virpil display it?

Woot got my tracking number!!! Who is your courier tho. I got the number but no link.

It's EMS Express. So you'd have to either use your local courier which handles International EMS parcels - this varies by country hence no specific link in the email or the EMS tracking page itself. I'd give the codes about ~24 hours to get checked in though!
