Gtx 1080 (get one)

Recommended Posts

I've gone from Sli 970's to a single 1080 and I'm getting 60 fps at 3k with all settings on high. Even at nights flying over the Vegas city lights with traffic and clouds. If you have been thinking of then do it, amazing performance Ed.

Indeed 2.0 really shines with a 1080 for sure.

Low over Vegas with all settings about maxed out I stay over 100 fps.

It's a must buy alright glad I took a chance on it as expensive as it is, it's an absolute beast of a card.

I have a 1080 and it's a great card for current games but DCS is just weird... especially v1.5.5

In 1.5:

If you have the Huey module, run the "target practice" instant action with maxed settings and report your FPS.

Try the same for the F5E module with the "free flight" instant action and fly nap of earth.

I can hit a higher FPS than my 144hz monitor can handle but the game still feels off, especially when panning the view around.

I have recently got a 1080 too. CPU wise I am not too bad (OC'ed 3770K at 4,5Ghz) paired with 16gb of DDR3. Could you please post an screenshot of your settings on Openalpha 2.0?

Thanks

I have a 1080 and in 1.5.5 it's not as smooth as I'd like.... In some multiplayer missions I'm hardly at 35 fps :( I'm running triple screen in 1440p and settings are let's say medium. Can't get better fps even going lower on details now. Pretty annoying.... Hope version 2.5 will giv better performances.... Or am I having trouble with some setting?

With 1.5.6, CPU is very important too... I bought a 1080GTX put it on a old I7 2600k and its motherboard (16GB RAM). Compare to the 970GTX I had before not really better performances.

I changed my motherboard (32GB RAM) too, add a new 6700K then it's correct but not incredible ;)

With 2.0.4, I had much better performances with GTX1080 compare to 970GTX,, using my old motherboard.

Of course it was nearly perfect (never under 60FPS when flying upon Vegas) with my new motherboard.

But with the last update 2.0.5 FPS dropped (sometimes less than 40FPS upon Vegas)

I hope this will be fixed soon !
