We just hit the 3 week point. Is there any update or ETA so that I can at least plan for the patterns I have completed?

For now, I have vivid light over the bare metal, but I would like to add some other US type markings and I don't want to put too much effort into it if the template is just around the corner.

VA-75 Sunday Punchers

I also have VA-52 and VA-85 ready to go, with only tweaks to the template required.

Loving the Viggen. Wouldn't mind trying my hand at skinning a F105 scheme. My favorite low and fast striker when I was a kid. I imagine there is advice on how to skin on the board somewhere.

+10000000000000000000... for an LNS F-105 one day, but I'll definitely settle for Viggen "Memphis belle II"s or 335th "Chiefs" skins!

...or even some JASDF skins too! :D

A japanese Skin would also be quite suitable as Japan was one of the nations that looked at the AJ 37 in the early 70s

as a Primary Anti-ship aircraft with a secondary strike role

(So pretty much the exact type of missions the AJ 37 was designed to fill)

And purely performance wise id say the Viggen would have been more capable then the F-1 for that type if mission.

though if i recall correctly the Japanese had some

concerns about the range / loiter time of the Viggen (dont know if that is correct though as the F-1 does not seem to have a significant Range advantage over the Viggen unless it gives up its Anti-ship missiles for external fuel tanks)

But its possible that cost / politics also made an impact on the choice

(as its rare that performance/capabilities are the only or even the most important factors when it comes to acquiring combat aircraft).

So they decided to go with the Japanese Mitsubishi F-1 in the end

instead of the Viggen.

So a Japanese Viggen is one of the more believable

what if skins.

This is all very nice,

but how would we do skins, fictional or not,

without a proper PSD Photoshop template?

The templates will come when they're ready for release. There's no point in spamming forums with repeated questions about "when will [insert whatever the impationt folks on the forums are waiting for] be released?"

Fine, but then they should not say "ETA is a couple of days"

but rather "The templates will come when they're ready for release",

don't you think?

ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival. And do they really need to speak it out loud...

Everything is subject to change.

I'm confident they have their list of priorities, which works best for the whole community.

Leatherneck has been top drawer as far as quality of product as well as responsiveness to the community, and I don't see anybody here saying anything to the contrary. In fact, the people inquiring on this thread are the people who are enthusiastic about adding something to the community. However, the original estimate was one to two weeks (on the outside) from release, to a "couple of days" almost a week ago.

Having worked in software development, I understand delays and priorities. What I (and I assume the others) am asking for is a revised ETA so that I can save the F5 key on my keyboard. :D
