it is usable, but avionics won't tell you the rage, but you can use it

but nice to see what's planned and what's coming

By modding, but not officially. Actually F-15/F-16/F-18 cant use them by mission editor (1.5.5/2.0.4). The last aim-9 has the 9P version. 9X has none integrate on enciclopedia.

No info on this, and if you want to discuss this missile we should start a new thread.

It's ok, I already know most of the part of the missile, I just wanted to know which planes in DCS will get to use it, like whether or not the F-15C and E will get an apparent upgrade and an ability to use the 9X, or even the upcoming F/A-18C

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Planes: FC3, P-51, F-86, F-5E, Mirage 2000, F/A-18, F-14, F-16, Mig-19P :joystick:

ED pls gib A-4 and F-4

Generally ED is pretty good at giving a weapon to an aircraft that is known to use it.

The AIM-9X is being Developed for the F/A-18C Likely,

Whether or not the FC:F-15C Gets an Upgrade to use them or not remains to be seen, and until such thing is even announced, you shouldnt assume it would.

AI Aircraft can use anything you put on the Pylons, so AI Use wont be a problem w/ the F-16s and F-15Es etc etc.

In the real world, do the legacy Hornets that have the 9X also have an AESA radr like the F-15C MSIP II?

Yes, legacy Hornets received the 9X and AESA radars - I believe it was sometime after 2015 when that happened. (AESA)

Lot 20? No..

Lot 20.

In FY98, Lot 20 series F/A-18C/D Aircraft were delivered, integrating the Phase II AN/APG-73 RUG, ATARS, Joint Direct Attack Munitions, Joint Stand Off Weapon, and EGI to meet the precision navigation capability that future weapon systems require. EGI provides an all-altitude, worldwide source of navigation and attitude information.

About the Phase II AN/APG-73 RUG,

Phase II of the APG upgrade completed development. It incorporates a motion-sensing subsystem with reconnaissance software, a stretch waveform generator module, and a special test equipment instrumentation and reconnaissance module. With these enhancements, the F/A-18 aircraft will have the hardware capability to make high-resolution radar ground maps comparable with those of the F-15E and the U-2 aircraft, and be able to perform precision strike missions using advanced image correlation algorithms. The APG-73 is operational in the U.S. Navy F/A-18 C, D, E, and F; the U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18A+, C and D; and in the air forces of Finland, Switzerland, Malaysia, Australia, and Canada.

Vitormouraa answered the question perfectly. I would like to add that the Phase II, that we might get, is capable of SAR mapping. It can only render medium-res in the cockpit.

...The last aim-9 has the 9P version....

AIM-9M was the last one, circa 1983. (prior to the X). AIM-9P introduce circa 1978 and was mostly for export with limited US use.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Oh man, AIM-9Xs were fun in maneuvering fights in the Eagle...Had an MP mission with those and AIM-54s about two years ago. Dang it feels like that was ages ago. DCS 1.2, old graphics, old F-15 FM, etc.

Shame the -9X seeker isn't quite right (it's like an R-60M), but that thing could bat turn if you got in close. Only slightly offensive in a rate fight? No problem! Fox 2 kill!
