Rocketpod Problem

Hi,

i stumbled across a problem with the rocketpods

if i mount rocketpods to the outboard stations they wont fire.

(on every other pylons i have Mk82snakeeyes and the centerline fueltank)

i´ve the radar in EM, selected on the PCA "TAS" and clicked on "RKT" on the PCA. master arm switch is set to on, and gun masterarm also,

i get the Pipper for CCIP nothing is flashing in the HUD as it should be

i think i´m doing anything correct because if i mount the Rocketpods to the inner pylons i can fire them.

only thing i stumbled across is that the PCA shows "INT" instead of "EXT" if i select the RKT pods, that is a bit odd because i have the double bomb mounts there.

if i mount RKT pods on the inner and outerpylons only the inner pylons will fire. and the PCA shows only "INT" again and no "EXT"

so is that a bug or di i miss something?!

You probably missed something - like the 2 dozend threads explaining that mixing weapons is not a valid loadout for the weapons computer of the M2K and can result in all kind of strange behaviours. ;-)

but if i mix my Mk82snake loadout with magic they work :-D

so why arent the damn rocketpods does not :-/

i would understand that it f**ks the Weapons computer up if i have on one outboard station a magic and on the other a rocketpod ...that is what i would describe as mixed weapon loadout.....

i mean the only weapons i have on her are bombs (all the same type) and the 2 RKT pods on the outboard pylons. and the fuel tank on the centerline pylon.

.

I'll try to explain it, like 500 others already did.

Snakeeye = Groundweapon

Rocketpod = Groundweapon

Magic = Air2Air weapon

Mixing different Groundtypes can screw the Weapons computer up. So

Magic+Snake = OK

Magic+Rocket = OK

Snake+Rocket = Bad

so this is a feature or what? :-D

why wasnt it mentioned in the training mission, then?

i think i would figured that out or understood it if the same problem appeared with magic+RKTpod+Bomb loadout...but this was actually possible.^^

but thx.

There is at least one mixed loadout that works.

From outer to inner pods: magic, rockets, 2x mk82/mk82s, fuel tank

This loadout allows you to carry 2 rocket pods and 4 mk82 / mk82s.

Maybe but you should not do mixed loadout, the plane does not support it in most of the cases.

If it works then use it, as long as its not an exploit in multiplayer. In this case it is not so fair game. We can't really complain if it stops working though, the manual warns us that it may not work.

No problems but you are not flying realistically ;)

Its not a useful loadout in general. Also, let's not mistake loadouts not used by an air force for unrealistic loadouts. They have their reasons. Our simulated combat arenas are different so we adapt in different ways.

If the loadout is possible on the aircraft it's realistic...

Unless you are roleplaying, which in my opinion is taking it overboard.
