Engine stops running ?

I only seem to have this problem in Mission Editor and I start the mission in the air.

My electrical (guns light) and engine just shuts off.

I did a repair that took all night long, and the problem still is happening.

Also I set up for the Dora against the spitfire and now I cant

hit the F2 key and view other Dora's and then change into

the other planes.

I would appreciate any help I can get with this

Thank You

Well I was just on multiplayer, and I took off and did not get very far, and

the engine shut off again.

This has never happened before and because I did a repair I dont understand

what the heck is going on.

HELP

I just tried open alpha, and no problem there, Only open beta

sure has me stumped

Fuel valve open?

Fuel pumps on?

Engine overheated?

When I start up myself, I may not do everything that may be needed with radiator or some other things, but if You use the left win home, it does everything for You.

I do not turn on WEP before going full throttle, but this stopping of electrical

or motor happens even when I throttle back to half.

It does not happen at all in Nevada Testing Range either !

Thank You all for some hints and tips !!!

Well, he wouldn't take off with disabled magnetos, pumps and valves, would he? Nor fly at all after air-start.

Agree however, that the description doesn't say much. I wouldn't mind watching a saved track with this happening. Preferably the offline, air-start one (they seem to save and play more reliably). Then we could investigate.

make sure you have all your circuit breakers clicked on. Also make sure you turn the wep on before going full throttle.

Full throttle is 3250 RPM and is stated for 30 minutes ok in the manual. Only 3 minutes with WEP engaged. Why is it a requirement to turn it on? I only put it on when I need extra power.

  • 2 months later...

Assuming that it isn't just overheating or some other finger trouble, I had a similar problem in the spit a while back. What was happening seemed to be related to the Headtracker device turning off bug. Sometimes some USB related glitch would turn off both mags, which were mapped to switches on my throttle!

The only indication was that the switches had moved, and if caught in time, they could just be turned back on, so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that this IS a magneto related problem (sort of).
