I am guessing it is to do with terrain preloading, ED are looking in to it.

Maybe try reducing terrain preload radius and see if it helps. Just a thought:)

It seems too work. I set the preload terrain radius from maximum to minimum. No more stutters.

Loading time mission is still twice as long then on 1.5.5.

Something happened from 1.5.5. to 1.5.6. with preload radius.

Preload on 1.5.5. gives no issues.

Alright i can fly in the first place. Thank you.

I hope ED solves the problem before getting it too branche.

That was one of the first things I tried. I set it to 6km and then set it to 60km, had no discernable effect. The problem is clearly with terrain since it is aircraft independent and doesn't happen when looking at water. Hopefully this gets solved quickly.

Also, it doesn't have anything to do with Nvidia control panel, I'm using an AMD RX480 and have the same issue.

System specs: i5-10600k (4.9 GHz), RX 6950XT, 32GB DDR4 3200, NVMe SSD, Reverb G2, WinWing Super Libra/Taurus, CH Pro Pedals.

If the problem continues can it be an idea to add one and one of the same updates to the Nevada version to find the problem easyer?

(sorrry for my bad English)

Hi

I am not sure when the next Nevada update is sorry.

The ED team will work on this issue before it is pushed to 1.5 release

im getting better frame rates just sitting on the runway in the cockpit, but im also getting the zoom lag where it goes from 120fps to a 1 second pause when i try to zoom..

the longer load time does not bother me, its longer but i can live with it.

Well i was happy too soon. 2d on tv goes reasonable good. Using the oculus rift the stutters and bad fps are still there. Moving my head from left to right or down to up give black fields, then it loads the image from plane and map.

Been able to play only in SP missions selected from those available for the Spitfire, and where there were no micro-freezes like in the old times where there were problems with some explosions, now under some circumstances I get sudden freezes although overall the FPS stay at 60 fps ( I've got VSync enabled ).

With the new version I also get constant micro-freezes in VR (didn`t try without VR device). Mostly when moving the head to look around or to lean forward. FPS are constant 45 with Oculus ASW. Already tried repair function, but no effect here.

Kutaisi FPS killer? Noticed the training missions are in Kutaisi and this region is an FPS killer for many patches. I can lose half my FPS and it comes to 25FPS on the ground there, whereas over sea or up in the north 60fps, 70 over sea. Thats on a GTX1070 so I don't believe its just intense gfx, there's something wrong with the area in general. You can look at the sky and get 60fps, look at the floor, get 60 FPS, look at the mountains and bam, you are dead at 25fps.

It's likely unrelated to the issue in the post, but should consider doing any tests NOT in that area so as not to confuse symptoms.

I concur, I set an explosion to time in a mission and it could devastate things, but I didn't believe it could just be that until you said so.

Also it seems to me that the sound message or the explosion will cause more stuttering than usual.

When i go in to plane, it is OK.

It's a bug caused by antialiasing set to 8xQ. Set MSAA to any other value and restart DCS.

Just wanted to pop in and say I have also had very long load times and new micro-freezes when looking around or zooming in 1.5.6.

I've got the same. It's annoying but not a game breaker. Micro freezes and buffering in VR on 1.5.6 - same settings on 1.5.5 with no issue.

hello all,

I found as far as the stuttering goes if you look around and zoom in and out when you first get in the cockpit, it lags terribly at first then it seems to load textures and is ok then. if you don't look around at first it lags constantly

I have exact the the same! No vr issue on 1.5.5 but freezes and buffer issues in 1.5.6. I desperatly hope for a fix to use the viggen in vr.

After 1.5.6 update my DCS open beta has been porked. Everything loads fine until I hit the start/fly button. At that point I'm lucky to even get in the mission I am flying. At first I thought it might be a server or internet issue, but it persists even flying offline.

I tried repairing open beta 1.5.6. I noticed during the repair/updates that it was copying files from DCS 1.5.5 stable and/or from DCS open alpha 2.0. Nothing changed. Load up times are so bad that I time out from servers when I attempt to fly online.

So I bit the bullet, moved DCS 1.5.5 and open alpha 2.0 to a different location so when I reinstalled 1.5.6 it wouldnt take any files from there.

I did a full reinstall of DCS open beta 1.5.6, downloading about 14GB of content, unpacked about 26GB of files and only installed FC3 and Gazelle modules. I have no other mods of any kind installed.

The problem still persists. I load fine initially. But even using the mission editor to create a new mission it stutters and freezes for awhile then its ok. I go to fly offline and everything is fine until I hit start. Random success, over 3 minutes to load a simple mission with only 1 aircraft or it just hangs completely.

Attempted to connect to the 104th server again. I get the server list no problem but as soon as I hit join it just hangs. A few times it CTD, a few times it gives me a connection timed out message.

Im not sure what is going on but at this point I can only fly offline when it decides to work.

Added note: The same issues now apply to DCS 2.0 NTTR and to 1.5.5. It is affecting everything.

Please help...................

I am also getting severe stuttering flying offline. If I press F2 for external view it will freeze for up to 10 seconds before it starts working again.
