Gunnergolly
This is how the weapon selector looks in XXJohnXX video, perfectly legible:- ...and this is how it looks in my Viggen cockpit, unreadable :- All the other font/writing in my cockpit is ok, so i'm just wondering why is XXJohnXX weapon selector different to mine ?. My resolution is 1920x1080 and all other modules cockpits are fine. drPhibes
Your cockpit textures are much lower resolution than xxJohnxx's. What are your texture settings in the DCS graphics settings?
Enduro14
thats weird maybe try taking a look at it with the lights off? i assume you have your texture settings to high right? Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
funkyfranky
I got that issue as well. But it was already reported and I think it is on Cobra's update list as fixed. BravoYankee4
Yeah, I have downgraded my texture settings (to save some fps) and I can confirm that this text is totally unreadable.
Gunnergolly
Thanks for your replies, In the original picture that i posted the cockpit resolution was set to 512, so i tried increasing the cockpit resolution up to 1024 Every frame and this is how it looks..... no improvement :- This is how the right hand side panel at my default 512 setting looks, i have no problem reading anything and improving my Swedish with it :) :- Edit: Good that it's not just me and has been reported. Thanks. Edited January 31, 2017 by Gunnergolly Win 10 Home Edition 64Bit, i7 8700k@4.8Ghz, MSI RTX2080Ti, 32Gb RAM, HP Reverb, Thrustmaster Warthog, MFG Crosswind Pedals. Enduro14
ya but cockpit resolution just changes the radar screen and mfds correct? Not the cockpit textures themselves. Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
drPhibes
Thanks for your replies, In the original picture that i posted the cockpit resolution was set to 512, so i tried increasing the cockpit resolution up to 1024 Every frame and this is how it looks..... no improvement :- Isn't that setting just for the cockpit gauges/displays? I'd assume that the rest of the textures are controlled by the global texture settings. But if the texture settings are maxed out there could be some kind bug involved. razo+r
you need to set the cockpit textures higher not the cockpit screen resolution
Enduro14
you need to set the cockpit textures higher not the cockpit screen resolution that but its not cockpit textures its just the general Textures setting. Other texture option is the terrain textures which should have no effect on this either. Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
Alwandy
Had this issue, I changed the texture from medium to higher and it solved my problem.
Gunnergolly
Yep you guy's are correct just realised my error and noticed that my "Textures" had been mistakenly set to "Medium" and not "High". Have been having problems with long load times and stuttering since the 1.5.6 update and so have been trying various things...... i obviously missed the above setting after deleting my "options" file and then reapplying my settings. Thanks again... Edited January 31, 2017 by Gunnergolly Win 10 Home Edition 64Bit, i7 8700k@4.8Ghz, MSI RTX2080Ti, 32Gb RAM, HP Reverb, Thrustmaster Warthog, MFG Crosswind Pedals. Cobra847
This indeed happens because the sim loads a lower Mipmap when you set your setting to Medium or lower. We'll get this fixed though, no reason folks with lesser hw shouldn't be able to read their weapon selector knob. Gunnergolly
Just bumping my own thread, The Viggen in 2.5 is nearly maxing out my 6Gb Vram and so i have had to lower my "Textures" from high down to medium with this aircraft. Cobra847 if you read this please would you take a look at the text on both the weapon selector and weapon interval mode selector dials.. Thanks Gunner.
