JABO2009
Folks, pls tell me, my PC is a Intel I-5 Quad C with a so called "Sandy Bridge" Motherboard, coming from 2011... it has of course USB plugs and HDMI, but Im not too sure about USB connectivity with latest VR Googles. As Im about to get a CV1, I learned it has "USB 3.0" to be plugged into the PC. Question: Does my Motherboard still Support this so called USB 3.0 tehcnoligy or will it fail , resulting in the VR CV1 not beeing detected by my Computer ? http://www.techspot.com/review/353-intel-sandy-bridge-corei5-2500k-corei7-2600k/page7.html Pls help ! :helpsmilie: Edited February 13, 2017 by JABO2009 CPU: Intel I5-2400 @ 3,1GHz RAM: 28GB Corsair XMS DDR3 GPU: Gainward Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Win 7 - 64 Pro Mad Catz Saitek Cyborg V.1 / Track IR5 Running DCS 2.5 on dedicated Sandisk 240GB SSD Modules: FC3/CA/Gazelle/P51/F5/FA-18C/A4-Community Mod
Sporg
I have a friend that runs Oculus Rift on a Sandy Bridge MB, an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO. That runs fine. I think there was slight problems with getting it to work at first, but now it works fine. Sporg
This might help https://ocul.us/compat-tool Be cautious with that one: It will report a Sandy Bridge CPU as incompatible, and it is not necessarily true. It might also report a USB 3 controller as incompatible, even if it is not. It's better to Google people's results on similar HW, than rely on this tool.
