0414 Wee Neal
Hi I have just updated to the latest version of DCS World and receive CTD when in missions. I am running 3 x projectors and 1 x touch screen with Helios on the touch screen with the MFCDs, RWR, CMSP etc exported (PeterP files) via JSGME. I am running a modified standard 3 Screen profile. All was working very well until last update but now when I switch to Hud only view Alt/F1 I have a CTD. This happens on all A10C quick missions and Maverick training mission. I realise this is sparse information to trace a fault but unsure of what else maybe needed to track down the problem. Many thanks in advance for any help that can be offered! ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 25, 2017 ED Team Share Posted February 25, 2017 No problem, it looks to me like some type of display driver crash, I will try and find out more after the weekend from a ED team member. # -------------- 20170220-204548 -------------- C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 38468287 00:00000000 00000000 00000000 0000:00000000 38468287 00EFD070 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll NVAPI_Thunk()+6F66E7 376599BE 00EFD210 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll OpenAdapter12()+A696E 3D7B4500 00EFD2B0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvspcap64.dll CreateOSCClientSession()+20DF0 3D7B48DF 00EFD320 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvspcap64.dll CreateOSCClientSession()+211CF 3D7B63DF 00EFD920 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvspcap64.dll CreateOSCClientSession()+22CCF 3D7B6DA9 00EFD9A0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvspcap64.dll CreateOSCClientSession()+23699 377B893C 00EFDA30 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll OpenAdapter12()+2058EC 3765828B 00EFDB60 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll OpenAdapter12()+A523B 376587B6 00EFDBE0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvpcdi.inf_amd64_b148980b3f7f1a62\nvwgf2umx.dll OpenAdapter12()+A5766 60A8DE7C 00EFDDF0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll D3D11CoreCreateDevice()+13B7C 60A8ED8C 00EFDF50 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll D3D11CoreCreateDevice()+14A8C 632C388D 00EFE870 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dxgi_.DLL ApplyCompatResolutionQuirking()+C4FD 632B357A 00EFE990 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dxgi_.DLL DXGIReportAdapterConfiguration()+237A 1AE0AF44 00EFE9C0 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files (x86)\Immersive Display PRO\WSupport64.dll 3AA8355D 00EFE9F0 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\dx11backend.dll ?beginFrame@DX11Renderer@RenderAPI@@UEAAXXZ()+1D 53598098 00EFEA20 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\GraphicsVista.dll ?BeginFrame@Renderer@Graphics@@QEAAXXZ()+88 3F0AC8D9 00EFF040 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\Visualizer.dll ?Render@SceneManager_Implement@@UEAAXXZ()+639 E6DA66DA 00EFF0B0 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe E6DAD721 00EFF110 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe E6D9BBD4 00EFF140 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe E6D9BB24 00EFF170 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe E6A771CF 00EFF830 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe E6EAFE1D 00EFF870 0000:00000000 C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe 65CC8364 00EFF8A0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNEL32.DLL BaseThreadInitThunk()+14 67F670D1 00EFF8F0 0000:00000000 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll RtlUserThreadStart()+21 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? 0414 Wee Neal
Hi Bignewy thats great, if its relevant I use a digital triple head to go digital unit, operating with an Immersive display Pro programme for screen warping. It may also be relevant that i tried out Sgt Baker Ultra MFCD on the same day that I started to get CTD, which was also the same day I did the latest update. I will uninstall mt Nvidia driver and reinstall to see if that helps. Can you suggest anything else I can try as a proactive measure? 0414 Wee Neal
Hi Bignewy did you have any luck? I did a fresh install of DCS world and I am still getting a CTD but only now when in 3840 x 2104 resolution. When in 3840 x 1024 goes to Hud mode no problem. Its all very strange!! ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 7, 2017 ED Team Share Posted March 7, 2017 No sorry, not been able to reproduce We should try a fresh saved games dcs folder first C:\Users\Neal\Saved Games\DCS rename the dcs folder above and keep it as a backup, it has your inputs and other settings restart DCS and redo your settings and test to see if you still get the crash let us know if it helps Forum rules - DCS Crashing? 0414 Wee Neal
Hi I tried the new saved games folder still had the CTD; very frustrating! I only need the 3840 x 2104 to export my MFCD etc onto Helios screen. Is there an alternative way of doing this that you are aware of? I am trying to get Ultra MFCD to work but thats proving tricky at the moment as well. It pushing me to get my panels finished which is a small fringe benefit. Thanks allot for continuing help. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 9, 2017 ED Team Share Posted March 9, 2017 try a cleanup and repair Remove your unofficial user mods if you have any, and backup any changes go into your Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/bin folder. There, hold Left Shift and right click and click "Open Command window here." Then, type the following exactly as printed: DCS_updater.exe cleanup this will delete all non official files then do a dcs repair DCS_updater.exe repair let me know if it helps Forum rules - DCS Crashing? 0414 Wee Neal
CTD solved Hi Bignewy I tried the repair but no luck, same problem, however........ I went back to an earlier post where you said it appeared to be a type of display driver issue and although I had done a new install of my Nvidia drivers it was still the same. I did a search on 'nvwgf2umx.dll from my crash log' which is a file from Nvidia drivers, I then searched my HDD and found a whole load of these files which were all left over from every single Nvidia driver update that I had done. I used a free app called 'Display Driver Uninstaller' from 3dGuru website, which cleared out a significant amount of leftover files from Nvidia drivers. I re installed the latest Nvidia driver and problem solved, the CTD is solved. It does make me wander how many display issues people are having are down to these 'leftover' bits of code? I cannot now export my cockpit displays to Helios, but thats another problem for another day!! Many thanks for your support on this, you were instrumental in finding the solution.
