Asus Bios's for most Z270 v0802 available

Asus issued new Bios's for most of their Z270 boards, Version 0802.

 

You might wanna look into it if you have such an Asus board.

Careful with this one. It is actually version 801 not 802 and once I updated my Z270-A to 801 it has broken XMP settings for my memory which worked fine in the previous bios. I may flash back to the release version 701 for this reason.

 

Interestingly even on the Asus Z170-A platform any bios after 2202 breaks XMP settings until you reset the bios to defaults manually (even though the bios is automatically set to default after the flash, I had to do it once more manually or setting XMP for my Gskill memory would always result in a failed boot).

This was on 3 different systems using the Asus Z170-A and Gskill memory, all of which worked fine with XMP settings in every bios release up to and including bios 2202. The problem started with Bios 3007 and the continues in 3301.

 

Who ever is creating the new Bios updates at Asus is really dropping the ball on quality. I am still waiting for a call back from one of their engineers to discuss the issue. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it and correct the problems soon.

They seem to have common code among Z170 Z270 and most boards I guess.

 

My Asus Maximus VIII Extreme came with 2202 and broke with said 3007 twice, 2 boards bricked with 3007 !

 

 

My XMP works with the Corsair DDR4 from sig but they do need more Volts in any CPU config. Any lower than 1.3278v and cores drop right away in p95. As soon as you UP the V it gets stable.

 

Tbh...I never had such bad luck with Asus Firmware as lately, total of 3 boards, all high end boards bricked. You may be right with what you say.

 

Good thing was, all 3 boards got replaced without any issue or delay, that was top notch from Asus and Mindfactory I have to admit as well.
