No 1.5.6 update again

I rather suspect that 2.5 is just around the corner - so it would be pointless pushing out updates for current versions if they are about to become obsolete.

Yes, it would be nice if they told us as much, but we are used to finding out when it happens by now ;)

We have run 3 different versions for ages nw, so an upodate to 1.5.6 would be adequite.

According to the Leatherneck devs additional bug fixes has been ready for some time now.

With the many things that were newly broken with release version ver 1.5.6, I'm shocked that no patch has yet been made to address these new and returning bugs. I'll be very unhappy if I have to wait until a stable release version 2.5 for what can be considered to be critically needed fixes.

ED, please fix in the release version:

1. Su-33 Carrier takeoff from right side only causing planes to overlap.

2. Returning cloud swirling and rotating/disappearing.

3. No starting/resetting of the Elapsed Time clock on FC3 planes.

4. Long multiplayer mission load times.

5. So many new instances of jerks, pauses and stutters.

6. In multiplayer, ships vanish if spawned in after the mission starts.

This is the version that newcomers download and install. Don't let them assume that this current state of DCS with all these new bugs that weren't present in release ver 1.5.5 is where things stop getting fixed and the long wait begins for a new future stable build.

Guys: I've been with DCS for a very long time now. From it's earliest days of Blackshark when it came out on CD.

What any old timer here will tell you that this is the nature of this beast. And all of this takes a lot of time. No matter who's designing the software.

The guys who have been waiting patiently for the WWII map have been doing so for years now. And they have dealt with delays, problems, and lots of missed deadlines, and they're finally getting their reward. Just like those of us who waited patiently for the Nevada map and 2.0.

Yes, there are issues with both 1.5 and 2.0 for many right now, just as there have been issues with many things over the years. And we all get your frustration as we likewise get frustrated. However, it's the way that it is with this kind of software and we have all grown to understand this over the years. It cannot be helped. Every game that was worth playing that I have ever downloaded has had bugs and issues with updates. And people always seem to forget how good the game really is when something goes wrong.

The one thing that I do know for certain is that all of the issues will get fixed. And when they do (as usual) DCS will shine like it always does and we'll all be grateful.

Chin up fellas.:thumbsup::punk:

Bump.

Is 2.5 so close that the Stable(Ha!)Release Version is ignored yet again? I really hope so but I'm also so very sad that I have to play with such a buggy 1.5.6 release version.

Did I just say that out loud?

Doubtful, considering Normandy isn't scheduled to be out until May and they've said it will be on 2.0. Many more months of back and forth updates await us.

My 2.0.5.3140 Alpha and 1.5.6.1938 Stable versions just updated to the most recent on today's updates.

Your auto-updater must be quite lazy then :D, 'cause the rest of us have been using 1.5.6.1938 since early february, and 2.0.5.3140 since friday. There were no updates going live today (never are during weekends).
