frixon28
Thanks Prowler! I think it would be good just to show some general pictures of the Super Tucano in action, this module is going to be great!
sirscorpion
Funny thing is that the first Full glass pit aircraft in DCS will be a prop aircraft :D. Though honestly glad you guys went the super, this thing is way more fun.
spiddx
Funny thing is that the first Full glass pit aircraft in DCS will be a prop aircraft :D. Hm F-18 is pretty glassy as well. But you are right, the Tuc may very well be out before that one. :music_whistling::lol: Specs: i9 10900K @ 5.1 GHz, EVGA GTX 1080Ti, MSI Z490 MEG Godlike, 32GB DDR4 @ 3600, Win 10, Samsung S34E790C, Vive, TIR5, 10cm extended Warthog on WarBRD, Crosswinds
frixon28
General specs/facts on the aircraft for those who do not know much about it: Max speed = 590 kmh/367 mph Cruise speed = 520 kmh/323 mph Combat radius = 550km/342 miles Armament includes 2 wing rooted .50 caliber machine guns and 5 hard points for various munitions. Can carry a variety of dummy munitions, rockets and cluster bombs, lgb's and I believe AGM-114 along with air to air missiles such as sidewinder, piranha and python air to air missiles. We also have a CMS of sorts. As we get closer to the eventual release more information will be clarified. Now the A-29B Super Tucano is a two seat light attack aircraft, or counterinsurgency aircraft. In DCS we will not want anything to do with enemy fighters, and definitely avoid SAM's. Fortunately we have plenty of low threat targets to give us entertainment with for our flight sim hobby. I believe flying the Super Tucano will be interesting due to the two seat design of the A-29B. I am sure since I don't believe it has been revealed if this is coming after the Harrier or not, that the 2 seat integration system, whether with fellow player or AI, that it will be great! Sydy
Hi guys, I am really looking forward to fly this baby in DCS. Here goes some pictures during the IBAS - International Brazil Air Show, going on now in Rio de Janeiro. It is going to be fun to employ it as a weapon and to fly it as in the brazilian EDA - Esquadrão de Demonstração Aérea, the Brazilian Smoke Squadron. Yep, that's me in the picture... I am partitipating in the airshow with a Legacy 500 and took the opportunity to take several pictures. frixon28
Nice video and great pictures Sydy! Maybe its just me but would anyone else want to make missions with this thing just for hunting low threat enemy's on small boats? How do you guys envision yourself really using this aircraft? What kind of missions would you guys want/make?

Sydy
Counter-insurgency operations are going to be fun with multicrew! Tks Frixon, I do want to do some aerobatics flying formation as well. Agree!!! We can do some interceptions as well. Colombia has aces for shooting down drug dealers. This is an AT-27, but works fine as an example (watch it to the end): A-29 Afeganistan And this is the best ever film in an A-29 - Brazilian Air Force All the best, Sydy

frixon28
Awesome videos. I really hope we get some more insurgent units. That video of the AT-27 actually inspired me to make a mission like that in the Mirage.

Does Colombian government give the police and military license to kill at ones own whim down there? ( drug enforcement is supposed be part of law enforcement/ policing no?) why not just track these guys arrest them when they touchdown given it was being supported by US intel ( or have performed a raid or arrest before they took off in the aircraft). or what about the risk of accidentally shoot down a law abiding person's aircraft? seems kind of a gamble. NeilWillis
Just a guess kev2go, but I suspect they were tracking the suspect aircraft through restricted airspace, and it wasn't responding to radio calls. In the UK, Canada and the USA, if an aircraft was fleeing from a warplane, over airspace it wasn't allowed into, and it was failing to respond to radio calls, and failing to follow an escorting aircraft, then due process would take a back seat as the aircraft concerned would be considered to be committing a hostile act. A last resort option since 9/11 would be to bring it down. I suspect in the environs of the Colombian border regions the same rules apply due to the prevalence of illegal drug smuggling. Failing to respond to calls, and failing to follow an escorting military aircraft is a clear indication of someone up to no good, and they must accept the consequences. Sydy
Hi Kev2go, They do have phases of interception and flight data processing. They also have help from US inteligence agencies. The problem is that the drug smugglers run toward Brazil's border and in Brazil we can not shot them down like this. If they do not respond and evade, they probably gonna get shot at. The Colombian Air Force follow strict processes to decide for a shot down. Agree with you about the gamble and Peruvian Air force already had a mishap there and one was a missionary's caravan shot down where his wife and kid were killed. Anway, remember Colombia is at war with FARCs and they use drug money a lot, so... Shit happens in a war. Anyway, The T-27s and A-29s provoke havoc against FARC and Drug smugglers. Even FARC#2 was killed in an A-29 attack, inside Equador border by the Colombians in 2008.
