Current Skins will definitely need re-worked across ALL aircraft.

 

Half of my stuff is lost [back up drive is a paper weight] so I'll have to do them from scratch. :cry:

Yeah the Viggen's textures look beyond this world in PBR. I hope the other developers are on their ballgame and give us proper skins for Nevada and Normandy in 2.1 for their respective modules.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Some Aircraft can prolly get away with small tweaks.

 

But User made Skins w/ Custom Speculars will likely definitely need re-done, especially speculars, but the diffuse would need color range adjustments as well.

 

 

I Imagine a few livery artists will be upset about having to re-do / re-export all their work, but in the end run it's totally worth it.

I can't imagine, i fly Normandy in about 40 hours! New water, new lighting, a new map and a whole bunch of new objects! A new array is coming! Fast! :D :thumbup:

Honestly, the aircraft textures from the F2 view aren't nearly as important as being to able to see a fighter from 1nm. I've watched a few videos and so far it looks a little better in 2.1. It is still WIP, of course, but in my opinion this is where most of the effort should be for visual effects in 2.1.

It is still WIP, of course, but in my opinion this is where most of the effort should be for visual effects in 2.1.
Did you watch Sithspawn's video on visual range? It's more than a little better IMO, although I want to see by myself.

I'm very pround ED is in PBR effect too as all nowadays big sim is ( XPlane11 - AFS2 ...) . a must have for all modern sim.

but often also for this big sims, it's difficult to find learning stuff how to deal with PBR for user made skin.

really hope DCS ( or you ) can teach us how to deal with.

If the guide and effect can be understandable and give similar effect on all aircrafts no matter original 3ds model, there will be no problem to redo the specular file if it worth it.
