Charlie_01
The mods stored into ...Users\userID\Saved Games\DCS\ subfolders should work as well as those added directly into the Game subdirectories... They also should be safe from the updates of the game there and one shouldn't need neither to overwrite nor to backup original files. Is that true for liveries too? :helpsmilie: Edited May 14, 2017 by Charlie_01
Art-J
Yes that's true. Although when strictly custom liveries are stored in game's "bazar" folder, they're safe from overwriting too, because from updater's point of view, they don't exist. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Charlie_01
Well, it seems the 2nd condiction only is true: liveries seem not working if stored into Saved Games\DCS... :(
Art-J
Sure they work, but for every aircraft you have to create liveries\[aircraft name] sub-folder, with the name of sub-folder exactly as in "bazar" location, for example Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\FW-190D9\. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Charlie_01
Excuse me, but I've created the folder "Liveries" as "Bazar's" subfolder with a path as the following: {C:\Users\myUserName\Saved Games\DCS\Bazar\Liveries\F-16a} Do you mean I shold put "Liveires" directly under "DCS"?! I've put a modded .dds file into the ShipTexturesBMP.zip that is into {C:\Users\myUserName\Saved Games\DCS\Bazar\World\textures\} and it seems to work even with that more complex path (in JSGME-style like)... Are you really sure I shouldn't place "Liveries" under "DCS" instead into "Bazar" and the latter under "DCS"?? :dunno: Well... not hard to run a test however... :joystick: Edited May 15, 2017 by Charlie_01

Do you mean I shold put "Liveires" directly under "DCS"?! Exactly. That's the main difference compared to folder structure when you place the skins in the main game folder itself. I've put a modded .dds file into the ShipTexturesBMP.zip that is into {C:\Users\myUserName\Saved Games\DCS\Bazar\World\textures\} and it seems to work even with that complex path (in JSGME style)... If you say it works, then good. Certainly didn't use to work for airplanes, unless something changed recently. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Charlie_01
Yep... the test has just said you're right! That's a good news for me because I have so maaaaany skins and they are too heavy for a fast activation by JSGME, not to mention the duplication of filled HD space when activated. Now I've to test also if the mod worked for real or something else was running instead... Anyway thx a lot. Cheers! Under Saved Games\DCS directly too or in this case under Saved...\DCS\Bazar?
NeilWillis
Bazar has no place in the saved games folder at all. Just omit that from any file structure you create. I have mission files in my saved games structure too. Did you know you can even have a single liveries folder for all 3 iterations of DCS World? I don't recall exactly what was involved in setting it up, but doing a search on the forum will throw up the relevant thread.
