Thrustmaster F-18 Joystick?

Recommended Posts

The Same Stick Grip is used in:

F/A-18A,B,C,D,E,F

F-15A,B,C,D,E

AV-8B/NA

And a half of dozen less popular Aircraft.

Pretty sure a HandGrip release would sell like crazy.

I remember when the Cougar came out in 1802... err 2002....

TM said the F16 screw on grips would soon be followed by a F18, EF2000 and MiG29. In 2010 we got the Warthog set. Now in 2017 we get the F18 (thank you TM!).

So now we know what the design cycle is approximately: 7-8 years. Looking forward to the next one in 2025 or so.

;)

There was also a very good fan mod grip for the WW2 Luftwaffe guys. I have one and its great quality from a gent that goes by the name Baur.

They even use the yellow arrow when assembling spacecraft bound for Mars. So it must be important to have. :D

The f18 stick is a no go from me.

First of all I like to say i like the idea that you can just change the warthog joystick and screw unscrew the a10 and switch it.

And the stick is beautifull.

What i do not like is that there are no adjustable handrest. Actual there are no handrest at all on the stick that will make it a rather different flying experience.. Yes it do look more natural, but when it come to sim flight games then most people sit with the stick on the table raised a bit.. while in the real fighter the stick is at a lower height.

ALso to keep your hand on the stick you need to tighten your hand and apply presure during the entire flight with your hand to keep your hand on the stick... that is not good.

The difference is that you arm get more tired the higher you raise it up, compared to when you hold your arm lower. Just saying as a sim pilot I need the handreest and need to be able to adjust it for a more comfortable flight, and especially when it come to very acurate flight where only small adjustment is needed then resting your hand on the joystick give you much better fine control.

Also imagine sitting with your hand and arm up high on the table for example a 2 hour flight vs a 2 hour flight with the hand inbetween your lets.. there is a huge difference how you feel after the flight.

Sorry to say so, without a handrest I think people will regret buying the f18 stick.
