flavnet
About the presumed simulation realism ... 4 average pilots on bf-109k easily shoot down 6 high pilots on p-51d !!! I have repeated this mission (built) for 4 times and the result does not change: at the end there are only two bf-109k survivors. If things were going this way, we would all be greeted with heil hitler:lol: Edited June 11, 2017 by BIGNEWY removed sarcasm from title
Pheonix0869
Yea the AI isn't great, but it would be unwise to ignore that the 109K is a late model WWII fighter and the 51D is an earlier model. There are many discussions on this issue, however there are human pilots online that kick butt in a 51. SO... mostly AI and lack of any damage model. You'll also notice AI flights don't employ any classic ACM, they just become single AI entities.
Mr_sukebe
As stated above, the P51 in game is at something of a disadvantage to the 109k4, which whilst difficult to land and take off, was a very good fighter. For ref, go check the kill ratio of say 109s vs Spits once spits were trying to establish air superiority over France (and before the Germans ran out of good pilots). IIRC, the kill ratio was something like 2:1 in favour of the Germans. flavnet
With the spitfire is all another story !!! In five comparisons of 4vs4 (all high pilots) the finish is almost always the same: three spitfire survive (and in one episode, all four). The spitfire goes that is a wonder !!!! ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 11, 2017 ED Team Share Posted June 11, 2017 AI are undergoing changes and things will improve, but it takes time, just like the damage model which ED are working on. TwoLate
Yes I see in AI the 109 is a brute to take down with many hits. Now the 190 is very easy to see parts flying off. I for one cant wait for the new DM to take place in all props. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Captain Orso
I flew an SP mission escorting a wing of B-17's flying at about 16,000 feet with 3 other P-51's (4 P-51's altogether). I, along with my flight of P-51's were flying at about 18,000 feet and ranging left and right above the B-17's, not getting more than a couple thousand feet from the B-17's flight path. We were attacked by 4 Bf-109's coming it at about 11 o'clock, flying at about the same altitude or slightly higher than the b-17's. I accelerated and went into a shallow dive to head into the 109's with my flight holding with me, to break the 109's up. With the 109's attack broken up a dogfight ensued, during which the B-17's continued on their way. I got disoriented in a cloud bank, and when I got back out and found the B-17's, not one of which was even damaged, I then started looking for my flight of P-51's. I found them behind the B-17's fighting it out with the 109's, one of which was already missing. I joined in this fight, first by diving in to protect one of my flight member's tail. I never got more than one burst off at a 109, which was zooming across my flight path, and apparently did no real damage, if any at all. Before long all 4 109's were downed, none my me. Not a single P-51 was lost, nor could I see any apparent damage (black smoke, fuel loss, etc.) on the P-51's, all of which later landed safely. So, what does this mean? flavnet
It means you did a good escort mission. But you did not specify the participants skills. The 109's were "experten"? Your wingmen were average pilots? Have you repeated the mission for at least three times?
