What video?

Probably a reupload of the new Hornet features.

Wags usually uploads one and then a few days later the same video will be uploaded to ED

AFAIK, Wags will upload new features to Open Beta. And then Eagle Dynamics uploads when those features comes to Stable.

Fairly sure 2.7 will be later, but aiming for Q1.

The end of news letter will literally say so.

No, its like Northstar98 said. All videos Wags is doing for DCS are uploaded first to Wags own YT channel(probably to earn some "revenue" from YT as "compensation" for the work). After a day/couple of days they are going to the ED YT channel as "official" reference place.

From the early January newsletter:

While it was planned to release 2.6 in the very beginning of the year, so many additional changes are in the works that we have decided to move directly to 2.7. But prior to this move, we will have one remaining update to version 2.5 that will include many improvements to DCS: F/A-18C Hornet.

So my understanding is that the above underlined 'remaining update' was deployed yesterday and that we will not see Syria terrain update - Cyprus prior to DCS 2.7 estimated around April.

Would that assumption be matching Eagle Dynamics' plans for DCS in Q1 2021?

April is not Q1, its Q2.

Since you have joined at the end of the Q1 last year, I assume that you would not know fully what a 'year quarter' means in context of DCS.

I say, though, that 31st of March is pretty much around April anyway.

Major software update + new module + major update to existing module... can easily slip into early / mid Q2... I mean, we have been there, right?

Or maybe I've been flying Lock On from 2007 🙂

But yes, I know they may well over-run the stated timeline. I'm just saying April is in Q2 😛

We'll  see.

With Apache pre-sale planned for February (next week?) I doubt it. Would seem a bit early, with early access planned for Q2... we will see though.

I understand how it is to look at someone's profile and make that observation.

However, in my case  I show Jan 2013 - but I was flying Steam with the KA-50 since 2011. I didn't join these forums till 2013.

No big deal - but forum profile dates can be a bit sketchy.

Heatblur is working on an AI Intruder (KA-6) for quite some time.

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Heatblur have had it in the works since 2018, so far as an AI aircraft only, but they hope to make it a module.

EDIT: Sniped, though AFAIK it's an A-6E TRAM (at least, if not a TRAM, a SWIP) going by the TRAM turret present under the nose, though they might also be doing a KA-6D AAR variant too (though pretty sure regular A-6Es could carry a D-704 buddy store, though there might be DCS engine issues to resolve).
