Has ED considered the following idea?

In VR gun games; you can reach over to a gun, click a button and the VR "hands" will grab the gun so you can move/operate the model.

In other VR games, you can flip switches with the finger tip (like a mouse) and rotate knobs with the track pad.

In DCS, let's say on the a10c; the right hand could "attach" to the in-game joy.. and the left hand could "attach" to the throttle. You could also detach and touch all switches in the cockpit. This is basically proven in other games.

These feature would be amazing bc you could literally only use the VR equipment and maybe a couple keyboad commands for atc and such.

Just a thought and a major wish.

Well considering one can now see gloves in DCS if hand controllers are activated , I suspect they may have some long term plans for something anyway.

Even in VR, not using a stick for a flight game would be bizarre and would also be likely to reduce your ability to have fine control. General flight maneuvers might be OK but doing something like hovering in a Huey would probably be far more difficult.

not good idea unless you mount controller to stick....

Well.. in other games when the controller (hands) attach to the virtual model. Fine motor movements work well so I can't see that being an issue.

However.. if u forget and move the controller that is attached without "letting go" of the in-game joy..then yea, it would be bad lol

Indeed. Hope so. and by all means, I will still use my joy stick for many flights but would be neat to reach out and only use the in game model.

The problem is that for truly fine control you would need the feedback from the stick. It gives you a frame of reference that you would not have otherwise.

There is also the fatigue factor inherent in holding your hand in almost the same area of space for an extended length of time.

Only posible solution is that somehow touch or Vive controllers take roles of Hotas. For that you will need some fizikal attachments like those guns or similar for PSmove. So basically you need some sort of physical tension for stick and throttle and controllers will used for interaction with game.

I don't see other way to use such controllers in DCS.

For everything else controllers or gloves to have hands in game we need create one in game and this is huge work in DCS and need to be made from scratch so forgot about it.
