Hi,

the Support told me that i shall create a new topic for my error. So here is it.

Ive bought the viggen Yesterday because i really like this plane.

But i have a serious bug.

After i start the Engine, my rudder/yaw is turing to right side maybe 15-20 degree. I cant fix this problem with any trim and its really hard to flight with that error.

The Plane is very instable during flight. Every move on my Stik is really crazy.

I've recordet a Video for you guys. Hope that helps solving my Problem:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-oUN0teSLSGal9IVmRTNDh6Skk/view

Timeline:

0:00 - 0:40 my Control Settings

1:05 - 3:30 Startup Procedure

3:35 - 5:00 Taxi to Runway

5:15 - 5:30 Start on Runway as you see here it starts to drift to the right side.

6:15 - 6:25 You can see the Rudder and its a little to the Right side. I Try to trim but nothing happens...

6:30 Full Autopilot and Trim is fine

6:40 I go back to SPAK and rudder is again to the right side

6:50 Disabled SPAK and now the rudder is fine and i Can now trim the Plane.

7:15 SPAK on again. Trim is gone and rudder back to the right side.

Ill hope someone can help me.

Best Regards,

Dominik

What joystick? redder pedals or twist for yaw?

Do you have other planes in DCS? if not you can try the Su-25 or P-51d, does the problem remain when flying them?

Try clearing in controls, keyboard assignment x & z for rudder.

Hi Rodd,

i use an X-55 HOTAS. Its a Joystick twist.

I have also the FC3 Planes and there is no error while flying them.

I also tryed cleearing the Ceyboard controls for X and Z as you told. But its still the same error.

Some other suggestions?

Hi Sartarius! I am not at my dev-machine right now but will try to investigate as soon as possible. Meanwhile, could you try removing the assignment for rudder in the control-config and use the keyboard instead (default Z and X keys)? We had an issue with twist-rudder when the Viggen was originally released but I think it was solved back then. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I'm also using twist (x52) & I have no problems.

I see in your video you don't set a "deadzone" in axis assignment>axis tune for the rudder. I use 19 for Viggen.

Hi RagnarDa,

thanks for your post.

I have removed the Joystik Axes Controls and the problem is gone.

Maybe the twist rudder Problem is back?

Later I tested Rodds solution.

And its working.

Ive set a deadzone to 20 and the problem is gone.

Anyway maybe RagnarDa can check the Control imputs for the Viggen and make the rudder a bit les sensitive?

Strange is that I have the Problem only with the Viggen. My Su-25 and Mig-29 has no problems with the Rudder.

Regards,

Dominik

Glad you found a solution! Could you maybe try one thing for me? Go into the rudder axis settings and remove the dead zone and instead set a Y Saturation of 1 (the curve should now almost horizontal). Try to see if you experience the problem. If not, see if you can increase the saturation in steps until you see the problem again.
