I'm a cloooown that has no skill and doesn't know how to fly the F-15. I want some wise sages that have the combination of a strong comprehension of basic fighter maneuvers/ACT and instinctual flying ability to teach me a lesson real good a few times over because I'm just a clooown with no skill, no talent and no understanding of BFM/ACT that wants to learn real good. I'm sure all of you guys would make quick work out of dogfighting me.

The rules: guns only, since it's BFM/ACM it should be about getting kills from behind so no head to head kills, start out 10 miles apart head to head, pass left to left, when we pass the fight is on and you teach me the lessons real good as fast as possible(hopefully in 30 seconds or less because you're a sage and I'm a clooown).

I can't create public servers so you have to host. I'm going to fly the F-15. You fly whatever you want.

Do you have any WWII modules? Learning will be quicker in those, in my opinion, because any bad habits are quickly brought to your attention, more so than a high T/W bird like the F15.

No, All I have is the F-15, Su-27, A-10A, F-5.

I hate the gun sight in the F-5 with a passion. Even if I was able to get behind you I wouldn't be able to kill you because of that gun sight.

Just use the fixed sight like they did in ww2.

I'm kinda busy teaching this stuff to my comrades at 5e EVC right now so I can't do too much actual instruction...I can, however, spam links that might help you.

^Extremely relevant. F-16 and F-15 aren't very different in terms of WVR employment. Eagles do low speed a bit better but aren't as good at rate wars.

^T-38 IFF. This is where you start. Read it. Hopefully find somebody to teach it...

Everything below is real world BFM stuff. Helpful if you're trying to visualize things...

The below vids are from the ground but really cool and somewhat useful. Okay, maybe the F-22 one isn't, IDK.

Of those available, the F5 is best suited to work on dogfighting. The gunsight is not a LCOS, and I find it easiest just to use the fixed pipper in missile mode or manual with 0 depression.

Dogfighting is mostly about energy management, and the F5 doesn't have the great T/W ratio of the F15 or the ASC of the Su27, so you need to really get it right when maneuvering. Those other two hide a lot of mistakes with their advanced control schemes and more powerful engines.

I'm by no means an expert, or even much good, but I've won a few fights in the F5 vs Flankers in the mountains. I'd be happy to do 1v1 F5 practice with you. My internet gets hooked back up on 6 July. I am usually on teamspeak: na1.mech-connect.net as Dino Might, evenings EST.

I joined the facebook group.

I'm curious what all mods I have to download. I don't want to cause problems with my DCS. If it's just paints I'm okay with that.

Check your six, keep a constant lookout and try not to bleed off all of your energy in one go. That's the starting point.

Then get to know how your aircraft will respond in different situations, heights, and loadouts.

Put it all together and you'll be in a pretty good position :)

I have a high school friend that did USA Marine Corps and VietNam. I asked him about his combat training and actual in theatre combat experience. He told me, "Forget all that crap and DUCK!" LOL!

If fired upon, Evasive action >>> Now!

In the Ka-50, don't be seen. Use the terrain to hide in, fly low, do not fly the pre-determined flight path. I fly freehand. May use the autopilot to rtb.

one of the best tips there is. I find it better to fly FD and NOE as much as possible. Otherwise my head gets sleepy and I become lazy in thoughts = crash or get killed. AP = Not Good for SA - for Bit' SA at least ;)

Fly low, fly below powerlines as a rule of thumb. If you climb over them you do it wrong unless you know with certainty that there is no threat far and wide that may pick you up on radar.

When you think you got spotted, HIDE.. between buildings, inside/near a forest , under bridges..

Wait for a few minutes until the "Roooaaar" is gone and keep on sliding in. Low and slow.

Whenever I disobey those said rules I am done pretty quick ! Either a Mirage picks you up, a SAM gets you or something else totally stupid.
