fighting 2 f-16

hi so I am flying the SU-27. mission drone killer.

I ignore the drones as I want to learn how to engage enemy fighters.

so eventually I come across 2 f-16.

I tell my wingman to engage 1 of the f-16 and I try to fight the other.

I keep getting blown out of the sky !!

I tried many things but no success.

any ideas or help, greatly appreciated.

Plus, in the real world the SU-27 is far superior than the F-16. so the mission should be easy...right?

Plus is there a way to tell my wingman to separate away from my position, so I can see on the radar HDD which enemy is aimed at me or my wingman?

I read the SU-27 manual and it says on page 95 that there is a radio command called open formation.

I try to find it in game but I don't see it.

1. Get some proper SA

2. Know the surroundings

3. Look at the rwr and listen to it

4. Watch "the art of the kill" for some more ideas

5. Never ever fly straight once you are in range

6. Give the Ai something to work so you can press forward

 

Do serpentine once an amraam is on the way and release chaff, maybe even turn around, use IR missiles for fire&forget and tell your wingman to engage

 

And su 27 far superiour? What? From where do you get that? Maybe our Su-27s is superiour to the F-16A/B but i don't think it's far superiour compared to the block 40 or higher.

 

For open formation, press comms menue, F1 or flight, formations and the command open formation. If that option isn't available, then the formation is already open.

The su27 is faster, it carries more missiles and it has longer range, but the f16 has got just as good radar as the one on the su27, it is as manuverable and it carries better missiles (aim120).

 

Keep in mind that the f16 was designed to take down other 4th generation fighters and under no circumstances it should be underestimated.

 

In that mission you should ignore the f16 and only take down the drones, do not worry you will have pleanty of falcons and eagles to take down in the following missions.

 

As on how to properly fight in a flanker, google su27 by Santi871. It is a very good start.

You can't use the top speed of the SU-27 to much with a full load of missiles. It's heavy, draggy and will accelerate like a tractor.

No, the F-16 is not an easy target.

Use the pincer command. You can specify a direction. Your wingman will fly a few miles out. You should do the same in the opposite direction. Also a few seconds after the pincer, then tell the wingman to engage. This will split the enemy AI flight into 2 separate fighters that won't back each other up.

This won't help you, also I believe open formation is standard, which is why it won't show up. You're probably in open formation.

 

A little extra info, there are more formations available as triggers only. You can use these in flight by making radio triggers, but this isn't really going to help you here and would take a little bit to explain.
