DaveRindner Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Interesting that DCS 1.5.6 Mig-21bis arming allows carriage of BL755 CBU's. Now how to do it accurately?
cthulhu68 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 One thing I didn't realize until seeing a post about it is that the pipper, which is normally down low and barely visible in bombing mode, will move upward and become visible when you get into a steep dive much like the A-10 CCIP pipper. You want to release when the pipper intersects 2nd or 3rd horizontal line from bottom on the vertical line in background..
DaveRindner Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Thank you. Buuuuutttt! Prior to release, I enable tactical drop. Tactical Drop safety cover up, tactical drop switch up. Armament selector to B, mode is ground, ASP in bombing mode. BL755 release at around 1000 meters with piper as instructed intersecting with bottom radials of net sight. Weapons release, but do not detonate. Same with AI wingman. So even though Mig-21bis (in DCS) carries BL755(A NATO CBU bomb), does it actually arm the weapon at release.
zxrex Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Not sure if this is correct. Haven't tried it yet. Saw a vid where cbu's were dropped at high speed from around 150m agl in level flight. The pipper was visible due to the alt and speed, I guess.
cthulhu68 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) I didn't mean to imply you have to dive. Just pointing out that speed, attitude or altitude need to be adjusted until pipper is "in solution" Just tested and saw detonation with release at 1600 feet. Edited July 6, 2017 by cthulhu68
zxrex Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Was there a good sized spread? Curious as to their effectiveness. Guess I should give it a try.
