Spitfire IXc Early Camouflage 1940

This skin pack contains early camouflages for the Spitfire used while the Battle of Dunkirk and Battle of Britain.

 

The liveries have dynamic bort numbers so please use in the Mission Editor QJKP7350 for "P7350 August 1940" and GRJP9374 for "P9374 May 1940".

 

Spitfire P9374 GR-J crash landed in Calais May 24, 1940. Squadron code (GR) not worn as they had yet to be applied to the airframe. Full story of P9374 can be found here: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/spitregistry/spitfire-p9374.html

One of my favourite Spit restorations. If I may offer a suggestion, I believe only the port underside roundel had the yellow surround (if they had any at all in 1940), so as to provide contrast against the night coloured port wing.

 

1939-1941 was a very interesting period in RAF camouflage and markings history, so many changes and combinations.
