I searched but I did not find an answer. For the campaign Tomcats over PG I am trying to swap out the Iranian F-14B for the F-14A-135-GR. When I change the type to "F-14A-135-GR" in the 'oob_air_init.lua' I get an error when running the first mission bat. Not so when I change it to "F-14A". But that is also the name of the default AI F14A that comes with DCS. How do I differentiate between HB F-14A and the default F14A?

Did you make a Loadout for F-14A-135-GR ?

What is your campaign? script version number? etc...

At the moment, I think you're missing some files, if it's an Eagle campaign, it had some upolad problems, you must have some files:

Do you have all the folders as in the picture? (Active, Debriefing..)

Did you manage to play a mission or two?

Did you launch at least once the first mission as written in the pdf (firsMission.bat)

Yes I did but let me check

I think it may be the REM DCS saved games path that I must edit in notepad ++

I can understand the main path - the top line

But i'm unsure about the 2nd path - which directory should it point to?

Should it be:

C:\Users\Harvey\Saved Games\DCS              ???

mmm, yes, with a slah,

C:\Users\Harvey\Saved Games\DCS\

or

C:\Users\Harvey\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\

But,
But when you run Firsmission.bat, what error do you get?

When I now try to skip a mission - the same mission is generated each time.

Every time it is the same mission...

However, if I run firstmission.bat it generates a different one!

I can see in the folder there is an "ongoing.miz' but it's like the game reverts back to the 'firstmission'miz

Whenever I exit the mission I get the following error:

I think you got the pathSavedGames wrong

Because this error does not block the generation of the first mission.
But it blocks the generation at the end of the DCS/DCE mission.

give us your path.bat file, zip (because the forum will surely block it)
And a screenshot of your Saved Games folder (make sure to click in the address bar of the file browser to display the correct file names).image.png

set "pathSavedGames=Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\"

end

set "pathSavedGames=C:\Users\Miguel21\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\"

I had forgotten this detail, sorry ^^

I did but that did not change the error. The error indicated the name of the aircraft. After spending most of the afternoon on it I decided to give up on the F-14A-135-GR. Then I decided to change the escort loadout for F-14B of VF-101 but that yielded unexpected results. See the loadout file I posted earlier. I had a fuel tank on the starboard sidewinder pylon then a Phoenix that should be on the belly, af free floating sparrow that probably should also be on the belly. Don't remember the rest. Loadout aimed to get 2 phoenix, 3 sparrow and two sidewinders. So I figure the loadout for the A model would not work as well.

Also, did you add the F-14A to the radio frequencies Lua in the Init folder? The name has to be "F-14A-135-GR" not just F-14A

No I did nog. If I get the loadout on the B figured out, I might try again. But thanks for the tip.

Hello CEF.

I've downloaded your Falcon Over Persian Gulf to play with a friend of mine.

We really enjoyed it, congratulations !

But in the 3rd mission we've noticed that our AI flight does not take off.... also a strike package that is supposed to hit an SA6 site do not engage, they keep flying around some way points then go RTB.

What should we do ?

We've just released a new campaign series (Crisis in PG) with new ScriptMod version which should solve this kind of problem (with actual OpenBeta version). Just waiting for ED validation. I suggest you try it with your friend. I will try to upgrade other campaigns as soon as possible if this version is not too bugged 😉

Same answer than for TempestRiser just above 😉 Looking at Iranian Tomcats loadouts you should be able to modify US Tomcats loadouts or I will try to do one for you ...

Crisis in PG-Falcon.pngCrisis_Frontline1.pngCrisis in PG-Gazelle-LHA.png

New campaign with last scriptmod version (20.43.59) : Crisis in PG : Iran attacked Oman and several landing points are reported north of the peninsula. We do not know what the final objective of the Iranians is, but it is feared that they will rush south to invade the UAE taking advantage of the surprise and the relatively weak forces at the moment.
Your goal will be to repulse Iranian troops from Oman. Good Luck !

Some Iranian version are provided too !

Main New Features :
- Briefing written automatically in the scratchpad mod file, (for the moment, only works if DCS
is not launched) – see here for scratchpad :

- Possibility to have defined squadron airplanes numbers and different skins for planes in the
same mission (Leader, XO, etc)
- Player can ask his carrier to turn into wind (it will take a little time so anticipate it with F10
menu)
- Pedro helicopter for carriers and LHA
- Divert airfields infos given in briefing in relation with nav points.
- Less angular boats turns : ships will avoid 90° turns but instead will use more small turns.
- Many small or big DCE code improvements : escorts, radio frequencies, small runways limits
and more ...

See first post for campaigns links !

Hello,

First I want to say thank you for all these campaigns.  Second I tried to load the Ka-50 campaign - ran it and got this error message on the first mission:

sanitizeModule('os') in MissionScripting.lua has not been disabled.  Mission results...will not progress.

a message about getting restored to defaults after updates.  And the old message ...at your own risk.

I tried the -- in front of the specified lines to make it a comment with no effect.  Still got the message and it only apparently ran the first mission.

I tried using OvGME App per the instructions as a place to hold the above alluded to file but I am not sure the campaign is even seeing it.

I will admit I am no longer all that tech savy.  My Tech Hay Day was DOS and Windows 3.1.  You should have seen me explaining computers to the previous generation whose Hay Day was punch cards and card readers.

Any thoughts?

Does prune script works as intended? I noticed I have around 25-30 fps in hornet campaign, which is barely playable. Usualy I had no perforance probs with previous campaigns. So I tried to play with prune agressivnes set to 0 and 2, and there is almost no difference. Even with prune set to 2 there are so many units around front line. Is it supposed to be like that?

yes, prune tests at 2.8 see 3.0

Cef wanted to create a "real" front.

Thank you for responding.  Almost missed it within these prune issues.  Yes I used Notepad++.  That is what the instructions called for to modify the path.bat file in the init directory even though I seem to recall using it may not be good for editing certain files.  But the line turned blue like other comment lines so I figured it was okay.

Notepad ++ is the perfect tool to make this modification : can you make a printscreen of your file ?
