Now it works, it was an issue on the path.

 

The result awesome, everybody flew and enjoy on a big sortie coordinated, impressive and immersive. 

 

By the way we would like to modify the number of aircrafts available, we already did it, but we would like to change/add some roles for some aircrafts, for example remove antiship for A10C, add dead to av8, and others. Any advice?

I'm discovering myself all the benefits to use a dedicated server on another PC to have good FPS in VR ! It's changing my game experience mostly in Crisis in PG Gazelle where my FPS were low ! Now it's really very playable. Sadly in MP I'm not able to generate a mission with only one human flyable Gazelle so I miss an IA wingman ... but I'm sure Miguel will find the solution to this 😉

You can change role in oob_air _init.lua but be sure to have the corresponding mission aircraft loadout in db_loadouts.lua ! You will need to restart the whole campaign (or make changes in Active folder)

I've been playing these fantastic missions for a few months now. I've also found that offloading the mission to a dedicated server is a huge help for VR fps.

 

It would be great if we could fill remaining flight aircraft with AI. I'm not sure if this is doable but thought I'd suggest it.

Normally it is possible (except for the Gazelle for the moment)

If you want to play alone on a MP game, just ask for 1 Flight, and 1 Aircraft in this flight, the others will be AI

I believe if I do 1 flight, 1 aircraft (for a strike for example) then I'm the only strike aircraft.

Normally you should be able to have AI wingmen if you ask for 1 flight of 1 player because DCE doesn't like solo flight : minimum is 2 aircrafts/flights ! BUT I think when there are small squads like Gazelle or Harrier it's difficult to generate such missions 😞 I hope we will be able to find a solution 😗

You are correct. If I generate 1 flight 1 aircraft I do get 1 wingman. That's great! I will continue using it this way on the dedicated server. Do you ever get more than 1 wingman or is that the default? Maybe it's just the missions I have generated so far. Also, is it possible to have say 2 client slots and then 2 AI to fill out a 4 ship flight?

 

Also, when I attempt to use the single player option on the dedicated server it just gets stuck on "Your aircraft is delayed...." message. I believe this has been discussed before but does this ever work? Or does trying single player on a dedicated server contradict itself.

 

Thanks for all the work on these missions. It has added a lot to dcs.

I have a question re using the supercarrier in DCE missions.

 

I've been playing MBot's F/A-18 Battle Group Delta campaign, and replacing the Stennis with the supercarrier. Generally it works well, but I have run into some problems, mostly around CASE III recoveries, but I guess any CASE could theoretically be affected too.. When checking in @50ish nm, I receive marshal instructions with radial, dme, alt final bearing, commence time, etc as expected. Unfortunately between receiving these instructions, and turning up in the groove 20-40min later, the carrier has often shifted directions completely, and my approach is completely porked.

 

Looking deeper, there is a script that is run to turn the carrier into wind when launch or recovery ops are detected, but these are set to activate when aircraft are below 6,000ft or on the deck. Therefore the initial marshaling instructions become completely incorrect once the first recovering aircraft descends below 6,000 as the carrier shifts heading.

 

Has anyone figured out an alternative way to trigger the carrier to turn into wind that works a little better, maybe related to the inbound call?

 

Often there's a S-3 tanker at 6-8K overhead, so simply raising the trigger altitude wouldn't really work. Curious what others have done or how it's implemented in other DCE campaigns. Maybe MOOSE Airboss would be useful here, though it doesn't play with the suppercarrier perfectly yet either?

you can also have 3 ia as a winger
and also 2 clients with 2 AI
I've never tried to play as a single player on a dedicated server

We have not modified Battle Group Delta from MBot, nor do we follow it up, we leave Mbot's baby to Mbot ^^

In our campaigns, we modified the CarrierIntoWind script, the easiest way was to trigger it manually. (but our scripts have been so modified and remodeled that they can't be easily added to the original Mbot campaigns)

In your case, I suggest that you disable the CarrierIntoWind script or change the triggering conditions, i.e. increase the distance and altitude of triggering as well as the time of activation

Thanks for the reply Miguel. I realise you guys don't support MBot's original campaigns, and was just curious how it was currently handled. I'll have a closer look and see what I can do. Maybe I'll add the MOOSE Airboss script, as I have some experience with that already. Cheers.

I can't seem to get more than 2 aircraft in a flight. Either 1 client and 1 Ai or 2 clients work fine. However, I can never get slot 3 or 4 filled by AI. I always just get 2 aircraft in missions. Am I doing something wrong or is there something to be edited in the conf? Thank you. (Tried both both A10 and F18 latest missions).

no, I think there is no mistake,
Personally, I often had 3 wingman AI in F14 escort on TF missions

Give me an example of a request you make in your campaign.
I'll try to reproduce it and see how to modify it in a next evolution.
