I want to establish moving trigger zones to compel the player to maintain a loose formation with a craft he is escorting. Too close and too far are both bad.

I can fix moving zones ti an aircraft, but I only want this condition to be active for a time, so I need to switch these trigger zones ON and then OFF later.

Is it possible to do this? I cannot seem to find an answer by searching here.

Thanks.

I think have figured it out myself.

1. I set a flag which becomes true once the target plane enters the trigger zone.

2. That flag becomes true.

3. I set the two zones and peg them to the unit (unit inside moving zones).

4. I add under conditions: Flag is True

5. I set another zone which turns the flag off (false)

This should have the effect of turning the moving zones on and off. Will see!

First of all, I am NOT good at scripting missions, BUT I have made a few simple missions that actually work (thanks to some excellent help from DoW_D0o0M).

One thing you might try if you haven't already AND if it's possible considering what you are trying to do, ... is to set Triggers using Flags with Time Limits.

i.e. When "UNIT "?" flies outside the subject Trigger Zone, Set Timer to Start and configure it for a set the total time (i.e. "X" Minutes or Seconds) to return to said trigger zone OR such-and-such happens.

I have found that Timed Triggers can be very helpful in the instances that I have used them.

Maybe this idea will help you achieve your goals ?

Good Luck with it.
