DAWS Package for DCS World - discussion and bug report

Recommended Posts

That feature is extremely fragile: that's why it's in beta state since forever. Anyway, you could activate that you should only need to rename the mission (sortie name). As soon as map scenery object "set dead" function will be available via scripting that it will be finalized in a correct state :)

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Bug confirmed and reproduced about something happening after spawning the hummer. I'll check ASAP, but not before monday I believe.

Fixed. Download available here:

Honestly I didn't understood what went wrong, but it was about trying to retrieve info from a group that wasn't available anymore.

Uhm.. no, I think that it's not feasible to do that cause comment's aren't stored in the .miz file. Anyway I'll have a look at that.

Not sure what happened but after 1.5.7.11762 all missions saved with DAWS Package cause autostart script not to work, the first time you manually try to make a server it kicks you back to the main menu, and finally when you do start a server all you get is a black screen.

I don't use autostart script. What are you talking about? PS if it's another mod, I can't ensure compatibility with all other mods. If you are talking about having the mix restarting itself after "n" hours, I'm adding this functionality in 2.1.1 version.

This is what I am referring to. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160829 Its just a script that goes in and automatically starts a server after DCS world loads.

same issue is in tacview. Therefore seems no solution at the moment:

Found the issue, same as Tacview & LoATC: changes in the menù files. I have to redo them. I will prepare a fix in the coming days/weeks, for 2.2.0 and maybe 1.5.8 openbeta. I wouldn't like to have 3 version (1.5.7, 1.5.8, 2.2.0) around... but for a very limited amount of time I might do so given the upgrades of 1.5.8 openbeta over 1.5.7.

Version 2.1.1 won't be supported anymore.

As soon as parents and girfriend gives me 1 free day :D.

I hope before 1st jan. Maybe 27th dec, if I could take a day off at work.

It's only a matter of converting options.dlg file and cut off the release version all the "non working yet" things.

PS I did not wrote the year :D

only for those who want to help and don't want to wait anymore.... I created the testing version for 1.5.8 and 2.2.0. Those version ARE NOT TESTED YET, therefore 90% aren't bug free and might not work. Also, all debug things are in place therefore are log writing intensive: shouln't use them for complex mission. Both have to be installed by JGSME in your Saved Games folder, no more main DCS directory also for 1.5.8.

If you're interested in launch a run or a couple and report here 1) if it's working 2) if not and attach your dcs.log file You will centanly speed-up the debug process and may let me release a usable beta on AMVI site in the coming days (after christmas)

In the meantime, even if Object.destroy() isn't working on scenery object, I got from MBot permission to check his way to use the scenery destruction trigger by script and maybe the "scenery persistence" options that keeps destroyed scenery object from a mission to the next one could be out of beta and no more hardware intensive.

Thanks all for patience, support and merry christmas to everyone.

PS

guess on "disabled" menù options are forbidden ;)

EDIT: link updated with new version.
