it made me want to buy L-39. i hope they put it in front seat area

 

Although in the back, you have an option to call it up from the front seat with LALT + B but this probably will not please everyone... in VR as yet it does not display correctly.

 

Here's a screenshot... I'm sure the lua's can be manipulated if you want to move it around and probably with a bit of digging you could 'probably' export it to another monitor if so inclined...

To be specific, this is in the current release version of 1.5xxx, you have an option in the SPECIAL section to apply the GPS module to the Mi-8 & L39.......

 

In the latest BETA the L39 option is not present and the GPS is not available in the L30...

 

BUT I would not read too much into this... :)

Well, this is an interesting find in the standard 1.5

 

Another cool feature was added to the L-39...now yoou can dismount the gun camera in teh special options menu :) (maybe a post for the Belsimtek section)

EDIT: "It's beta" :D :D Everyone know that this is universial excuse for releasing unfinished products with the bright side of getting feedback and darkside of blaming everything that's wrong on "it's early access".

 

Early access is also optional, you can wait till release. No one has forced early access on you.

I was not even debating if it should be early access or if i am buying it, I reacted to soemone telling me it's early access, i don't care. After that i was speaking about general issues with early access.

 

I have never complained something is incomplete, i was expressing my opinion after i've seen webpage with module and read this thread.

Incredible work. Being part of the original aircraft or not, will greatly facilitate the navigation of old aircraft. DCS needs implements like this. :thumbsup:

 

I would love to have the GPS on the Bf-109, FW-190, P-51, Spitfire, F-5, Huey, Gazelle, Saber, L-39, Mirage and especially on F-5. :lol:

 

But before acquiring it, I will wait for more answers about its implementation on other aircraft, the fact that I have to buy it individually for each aircraft (if it is actually sold in this way) it bothers me a lot and the purchase will become unfeasible for me.

L-39 is also capable of using it too AFAIK.

Well, I just peaked at the manual, I can say you'll love to just turn 3 dials, push a button and flip a switch rather than to get lost in the garmin's menu hell…

 

For the moving map, probably.

 

I just hope that people are not so simple minded, that device has no tactical value whatsoever.

im a bit familiar with the gps from civilian sims. guess ill wont have a hard time. (or at least i hope so lol).

Gazelle and Mirage got INS, why the need of GPS ?

 

GPS is simply a data source used to help keep an inertial navigation system aligned.

 

Needed? Who knows, but should increase accuracy. Would also allow you to perform in-flight alignment like on the A-10C.

I was just referring to the only desire to get a fancy color moving map. I have no intention to hurt anybody. That GPS device is certainly not for noobs if ever they want to navigate seriously. I mean with all the departures/approaches procedures, rules and other hassles of the civilian sky.

 

Otherwise, if the case is passing over way-points which are coincidentally placed over beacons in 90% of missions, have mercy, spare those 15€ and just use that HSI's needle.

lol i have no problems flying a 737 to any aiport with their stars/sids but yet im unable to navigate a mig21,

its me i skipped some stuff while learning or its normal? :book:

Well, I see plenty of tactical uses for the new GPS despite being able to navigate fine without one.
