[RESOLVED]game is nearly unplayable

As many pilots it took me a while to get everything.., good hotas, good pedals, head-tracking, PC... got around 65%-70% of the modules just to see that I still can't play the game. My specs are in my signature if you want to check them out, but the problem is I have insanely bad FPS in CQC. I am in a 3 Mig 23 v 4 F5 clash in SP, no scripts, and I only get 15-20 fps while my card had 5-7% usage. I play in full HD at Medium-High settings. I crushed in to the water, and as soon as I died , both fps and card usage went to 60 fps at 50% usage. I have no idea what to do, is this a bug that will be address, this is how DCS is? Please help me because at this point I see no other exit then just quit. This is a an extremely bad experience and not really what I was looking for when getting my gear.

P.s. my video card runs just fine, in games like Arma I get 60-70 fps, maxout with 95% usage, while in Warframe I get around 280 FPS with 75-80% usage

Strange, I am not having any issues like that

 

attach your dcs.log we will take a look

 

also if you have not yet do a cleanup and repair ( for stand alone or integrity check for steam users )

 

make sure windows and all drivers are up to date

Don't feel alone I am in the same boat, I just keep waiting and with each patch hoping something in the optimazation changes so I can run the game smooth again. I remeber when they first released the KA50 in Russian and I bought it cause everything ran so smooth and was so much fun. But the Pauses are so bad now that it takes the fun away. I'm sure they will eventually get it to work when they get to the release level and are not in Alpha or Beta stage of development.

Low FPS with many AI mean your CPU is slow.

Your CPU is too slow (3.6Ghz). Overclock to 4.2-4.4Ghz. Turn off the Hyper-Threading.

Ok I will give it a try, I have clocked it to 4.4 turned off hyper threading and spread spectrum. Thanks for the tips. I have liquid cooling so heat is not a problem.

Well that was a good move. I flew around in the Gazelle, (it's usually the worst fps hit) and I got 1 less than a second pause with other planes bombing the runway and other AI doing stuff. I was flying with the camera on. I'm pretty sure the one pause was terrain loading cause I do not use a ssd. In both Beta and alpha2 version things are playable. I am running on medium settings which is fine for my eyes. I'm usually so busy trying to stay alive I don't have time to be admiring the rivet count on the tanks anyway. LoL. I am seeing max temps around 50deg c and my system is completely stable so far at 4.4ghz so I'm going to leave it there and run it.Things do load much quicker. Back when I built this many years ago i put the top of line Corsair water cooing on it at the time, since then I have heard of problems with them but I got lucky I guess. I do see that when I build my next system I'm going to go take a loan and buy a super fast open architecture cpu with super cooling since the programming is requiring it more and more.

I'm getting a consistent 70fps average in Beta and 100fps average in Alpha 2.
