With that HUD unit having 7 potentiometers, what is the best control board for all those inputs, pretty sure my GGG only has 2 pots connections.

I'm not using a potentiometer. All knob switches are using rotary encoders.

I used the evaluation board on which PIC18F4553 was installed. But I don't know if it's best.

If you want to use more potentiometer, you should use A/D converter.

BB, I found your tumblr while I was doing some research on youtube. Great resource. Thanks for that!

Are they the two next to the AP and ON OFF buttons?

I wondered what they were for couldnt find it NATOPS

Wish ED would do a complete system rundown of what controls will be required, the start sequence will be good as was tutorial where WAGS went around the cockpit, but i am not making a replica so I dont want to havemade panels and bought switches that were needed in game, for example, im not going to build a comms panel becuase I only plan to the / menu to contact ATC etc.

He mentions a few will be always in the manual selection, so if only have to use them very very rarely I probably not make that panel and use the mouse.

BB, can you shed some light into what push/pull encoder you used for the channel select knobs on your ICP?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Although it is probably a pull switch with an actual machine, it was difficult to reproduce it, so I used an encoder with a push switch.

Can you share some info on the CNC machine and machining process for the back-lit acrylic boards? And how did you get those PCB done?

1, Milling acrylic boards (Make a panel)

2, Paint

3, Milling paint film (Make a string)

By lighting from the back with this it glows only character.

PCB is also made with milling machine.

The thing I have a problem with is how to stick the buttons to those switches as I've got the same switches with backlot LEDs but no idea how to make sure that the buttons which are perspex and engraved don't fall off/come loose. Just love how you've engineered yours and WANT this myself!

This is helpful. For the actual knob itself, did you 3D print this yourself or are there parts out there available for purchase?

Since I don't have a 3D printer, I made a knob using 3D print service.

Right on, thanks BB! Now it looks like I will need to figure out some ways to learn to do 3D design

Appreciate the quick response.

How the hell do you make your own 16 segment led screen???? It look's like a mix beetween matrix and segment led! And so tiny ... how do you do that???

LED is embedded in the groove.

The structure is very simple.

Great work, BB. Is it possible to share the 3D datas for the buttons? I try to build the UFC and, if it work, maybe more. Which buttons did you use for the numberblock? Can you give us some tips how to program it in DCS? Its my first try to build a contoller for dcs, i just have some experience with a simracing buttonbox and the arcaze board.

Thank you,

Chris
