This is great news!!! Might be a game changer for me. I got rid of the CV1 because the resolution wasn't good enough. 4K VR is going to be the way to go!

only 8 days left in their kickstarter....

not wanting to pledge $500 to get a 8K horizontal Unit if nothing comes from it.

And there's little to no specs about the 5K

Love it, but with what hardware?! Lol

At $500 I doubt they licensed Dual HDMI MiPI boards for rendering a 7680x2160 image,

It'll likely be half that, and simply upscaled.

The Issue w/ Current VR Headsets isnt the Game's Input Resolution, but the resolution / PPI of the Screens themselves.

The fact that Eagle Dynamics is reaching out Pimax is an excellent news.

There is no better way to improve VR experience than these two companies working together to optimize both products. I'll wait and see for the release of the Pimax and the firts reviews by Matt))

Hm, ok. Still very impressive. Maybe a little OT, but - in principle the delivered input for that device might be roughly the same as when you crank up resolution (scaling) for DCS, with the difference being that currently the image is downscaled on the headset´s displays?

I´m all pro VR headsets with better resolution. OCR is great, but a lot of the beautiful detail gets lost in there.

The Difference is the Aspect Ratio, it will be a significantly wider FoV and Rendered Image.

PiMAX 8K

7680x2160 = 3.3

Rift/Vive

2160x1200 = 1.8

3 Screen 1080p

5760x1080 = 5.3

Euhm but the hands on preview was not so great about screen door effect and tracking issues but reviews will give us the final verdict. The hardware is ready in 2 generations then there is already a cv2 and more headsets.

What about working with the Windows VR partners? They are better established and have more mature, better backed products. My experience with the Pimax was poor at best. The screens are up scaled from a lower resolution, the lenses and LCDs are of poor quality, the software is amateurish and quite buggy. I don’t understand your decision to pick them as a partner.

I don't know how much faith I put in the Pimax product line, but I hope that the meeting will lead to broad improvements/efficiency gains for all VR HMD's used in DCS.

Great news and that remind me in time when ED implement freetrack protocol for headmovemant.

Major benefit will get VR pilots. No much difference than CV1 in resources because pimax higher pixel density will be less need for super sampling so this difference will used directly in resolution.

Today is represent latest Version 3 prototype, major news now is Display port and manual IPD adjustment what showing progress going good.
