Lenovo Explorer

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Is someone use Lenovo Explorer with DCS (not STEAM) and can give his opinion ?

I'm actually use an Oculus (loaned by a friend), and i defenitively seduced by VR.

So on the paper Lenovo is better than Oculus, but i don't find anyone using it.

thanks.

Exo, Odyssey is superior in resolution to Rift. But in DCS, it made ZERO difference. I imagine Lenovo is in the same boat. Also, it *HAS* to support SteamVR for it to work with DCS. So if you go for Lenovo, *make sure* it's supported by SteamVR.

Thank you for your interesting answer.

So, I fell for the oculus, it works, good quality, existing community, and the "Black Friday's" promotions are really interesting...

Smart move!

Salut Exo7,

- Installer Steam

- Lancer Steam, et installer Steam VR (logo VR à coté des trois bouton "réduire, agrandir, quitter")

- Dans le Steam store, installer "Windows Mixed Reality For Steam VR"

Voilà c'est prêt !

Maintenant il faut :

- Lancer Windows Mixed Reality

- Lancer Steam VR

- Lancer (enfin) DCS World

Simple rapide efficace !

Ergo.

(Sorry for no french user, not time to reply in english, and Exo and me are frenchs ;) )

Salut Exo7,

I'll just talk in French, well because of english nuances.

Yes it will work perfectly, but you have to :

- Have the latest version of windows 10 (version 1709)

- connect the Lenovo Explorer (LE ensuite), which will launch the installation of Windows Mixed Reality

- Do the configuration of the LE

- Install Steam

- Launch Steam, and install Steam VR (VR button will appear beside minimize/maximize in top corner)

- In the Steam store, install "Windows Mixed Reality For Steam VR"

Now it's ready !

Next you have :

- Launch Windows Mixed Reality

- Launch Steam VR

- Launch (finally) DCS World

and there magic!

Steam VR doesn't care if DCS is a Steam version or not, it will load it in VR in the LE.

Quick and efficient.!

Was bored, translated it for other people who could use the walk thru.

Salut Ergo,

Hi Ergo,

Thank you for your answer.

I actually saw this "prerequisite" -> Windows 10. And that's what blocked me.

I really don't like this version of Windows.

Given the price offered for Black Friday (399 € with 2 sensors + touch), I jumped at the chance.

By cons I am curious to see what the "mixed reality" brings (or going to bring) for the simpitters.

Meanwhile the Rift gives me new thrills and for now it suits me.

I think we'll see by 2018, many improvements like 4K for example, and at that moment, I would see to change the helmet and Windows ...: cry:
