kyborgs Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Hello everyone Last day's i'm been making large and complex mission, right now everything is fine except FPS, because of this, flying isnt smooth anymore. Mission contains large amount(75%) of static objects, 20% are SAM's/AAA and ships, last 5%+*later will add more* is ground units(tanks/APC), no aircraft and combat yet(wont be much). My question: how to improve FPS? -i know answer is simple: "reduce object amount", but is there any other option? -screenshots attached below is set on extended fps view, can i optimize those scenes by changing object settings,etc.. ? -what is better when makeing such missions: many small objects or few large detalized ones? / how much impact does SAM coverage(scaning)? / factory with smoke? / objects set on: ground vehicles or pasive objects? -general tips for makeing missions would be nice :) ps. sorry about my grammar :noexpression: Regards Reinis
christopher m Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Making Missions: Hi Kyborgs, I also like to make detailed "Ground Attack Missions" My aircraft of choice are the su-25 and su-25T. Attached is one of my mission with lots of "Big Guns" involved. (Load it and change the time for the player to 8:30 start) Then play the mission and watch the GUNS action. (F7) The setting I use to run LOMAC/FC are everything on high but SCENES=MEDIUM and No civilian traffic. I generally find the "Moving Convoy's and Ships take a lot of processor power. Sometimes if my missons are FREEZING or LOW FPS I just reduce the moving convoys or take out a few ships then it seems OK. Of course too many Aircraft in the air; flying missions will bog you down also. Try to keep the aircraft in the air to a minimum. What I mean is not too many pointless flights going on, especially if you will never see them anyway. Also turn of "civilain traffic" these are just cars and busses that get in the way of you convoys and slow them down. Best Regards, [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christopher M
