bflagg
Is there a compatibility Matrix for DCS products / Worlds / Steam? I just got the Thrustmaster A10 HOTAS setup and new VR helmet coming this week. I received the holiday sales email blast from DCS and now.....what? What goes with which? The breakout of different worlds, aircraft and platforms leaves much to be desired in the way of figuring out what is what. May I suggest an example of simple matrix: Worlds and Steam or not to Steam at top, mods and jets/planes at left. simple x for what applies... Thanks, Brett
cthulhu68
To keep it simple all modules work with all versions of DCS (1.5 release, 1.5 OB, 2.2OA). At this point consider stand alone and Steam versions as incompatible. If you download steam version of DCS buy Steam versions of modules. Same goes for stand alone. Flagrum
In general: all modules (aircraft, maps, add-on packs) are working in every DCS variant. But there are two "BUT"s to be aware of! The small "but": But right now, any map besides Georgia is only working in DCS 2.x. This will change soon, when DCS 2.5 will be released in Jan/Feb 2018. The big "but": BUT the DRM systems of Steam and Non-Steam Variants of DCS are NOT COMPATIBLE. That means, it depends on where you buy a module - it will then run only in the respective DCS variant! (There are exceptions, but this general rule does still apply)
