they didnt work only on it for 5 years. they took the time and created hype. do you really belive they worked on it for 5 straight years?

and those are fetures that they planned addinng to the game anyway for other aicrafts too...

That is an utterly untrue statement. Much of the art flight dynamics, radar, and systems work started years ago.

ED is a tiny company, with not too many customers so they charge more

They are not the size of EA or the other big boys

It is sadly a smaller market for sim software

I would pay more than $100 for this module. DCS World is my passion so, yes, I'll never complain about the cost. I will pay their price the day they let me download it.

What scares me is the six month wait. The last of Spring, 2018 is June.

But, from what I've seen, the Hornet is going to be super-fidelity so waiting 'til June is acceptable to me. I would just rather get it tomorrow! :)

Gotta edit this post. For the forum record, I just bought the Hornet.

Had they asked for that $100, I would have paid that, too. In fact, when it gets released in full, I might just buy it again.

The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...

Why cant we donate to the new updated 2.5 Wags never got back. We could donate to updated textures by others?

We won't accept donations for 2.5, but we hope customers will instead consider other DCS Modules that they may not have considered purchasing before.

DO they really charge more? The last EA game I bought cost me well over 100 for the deluxe version and I bet they sell me another version in a year or 2 ;)

I once said on this forum that they should charge twice as much for the A-10C as they did back then.

Seeing as everything points to the F/A-18C being even more detailed and more in-depth and that I still feel like I'm only scratching the surface of the A-10C, I'd say even $80 full price is still a bargain.

Gonna pre-purchase as soon as I'm back on my PC. :)

I've been saving up for the Hornet since Lomac was released ...

I've been saving since Jane's F/A-18 Support was discontinued and Combat.net was shut down.

I'm not well off by any means but I'm happy to save and pay $60-80. I do wish people would appreciate how much time, effort and money is invested in these modules and similar software developments. I've spent $70 on call of duty which took a few days to finish yet am still flying around and using the A-10C since it's early release, many years later.

For most of us, these modules are the closest we'll ever get to experiencing flying these aircraft. Millions are spent training real-world pilots along with countless man-hours, we get a small taste of that for the price of a single night out. When I see similar amounts being charged for some console games, I appreciate that many companies making specialist material such as ED/Belsimtek etc, could likely make much more were they to divert their skills to those platforms. As I see it, $80 is not only an investment to my hobby, but a small thank you too.

If people don't want to pay the higher amount, then there is the opportunity to buy them pre-release or wait for a sale. I think the developers have been most fair in this regard.

$59.99 on pre order, I pay more than that for a couple of drinks and pizza's on a night out.

Truth!! Likewise I would spend more on one single night out on the town or to a restaurant.

Plenty of time to save a few $'s before release as well and benefit from the discount.

I would not expect this module to go on any sale for a long time either after release.

Our local currency here is 12.5 times weaker than the USD (stronger than it has been in the last while as well) so I nabbed it right away.

Can't wait, roll on 2.5

Compared to other software products, the F/A-18 is more than reasonably priced. The level of simulation provided would allow to approach and exceed $ 100,00 without a doubt and even that would still be a fair price - always compared to other software products on the western market. Especially the ea-pricing is a very pleasant surprise.

Thx ED
