Nealius Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 To avoid the DCS Updater failing to copy my Nevada folder across different drives, I manually copied the folder over, then installed Nevada via the module manager to get whatever 2.5 updates were added to Nevada without having to download the entire terrain from zero. The module manager says that Nevada is installed and active, but it does not appear in the Mission Editor and the open mission dialogue fails to see any of my Nevada .miz files. Is there a step I'm missing?
Rudel_chw Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I would try to do a repair, by opening a command windows in admin mode, navigating to program files/eagle dynamics/dcs openbeta/bin and running the command DCS_UPDATER REPAIR For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
toutenglisse Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I confirm. Do a repair - it will download a bit (2-3 gigs iirc?) and nevada will work.
Nealius Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 I did a repair, but the NTTR download is 31GB despite me already having the 2.2 NTTR folder in my Mods/Terrains folder. The Nevada folder I transferred from 2.2 is only 5GB. Something ain't right.
ED Team c0ff Posted February 2, 2018 ED Team Posted February 2, 2018 Yep. When OpenAlpha was on another drive the updater failed to copy it. Now it is fixed. DCS_updater 2.6.24.37 is out. Dmitry S. Baikov @ Eagle Dynamics LockOn FC2 Soundtrack Remastered out NOW everywhere - https://band.link/LockOnFC2.
dannyq8 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Now you tell us, it would have been nice to know this a bit sooner. Anyway, installed 2.5OB, re-downloaded Normandy and NTTR and uninstalled Alpha (as nothing copied from it because it was on another drive) and all is good. Question When the release build to 2.5 update is available, will Normandy and NTTR be copied from 2.5OB even though this is on another drive? Nealius Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Great, now I have to waste another 24 hours downloading Nevada again.

Rudel_chw Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 We had a week to prepare for the update ... there was a thread many pages long about how to perform it ... it seems to me that you could have avoided this trouble just by Reading about the update process before jumping in. It wouldn't have mattered to me how many of the 83 pages of the thread I read. It was flawed, and the updater was patched to fix it. Nealius Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 (edited) UPDATE: Hotfix 3 has resolved this problem and created a new one. Attempting to open Nevada results in "Terrain.cfg.lua.dll has been modified" error, which CTD's DCS. Repair did not fix the problem. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I downloaded Nevada from scratch, have a 33.7GB Nevada folder in the terrains directory, and DCS still refuses to recognize that I have it. I even ran the activation .exe from the Nevada folder to make sure it was activated. Still didn't work. Nevada is marked as installed and active in the module manager, yet does not appear in the Mission Editor, nor can I open any .miz files using Nevada. Nevada is also missing from the module icons on the bottom of the main menu. Normandy and Caucasus are there, but Nevada is not. Edited February 14, 2018 by Nealius

Nealius Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Ran a cleanup and repair, tried to run a mission on NTTR. DCS froze and the log has this error: 2018-02-15 01:09:37.681 ERROR SECURITYCONTROL: Manifest hash check failed for file 'mods/terrains/nevada/terrain.cfg.lua.dll' The update log claims "0 files are changed or missing," but terrain.cfg.lua.dll is obviously corrupted somehow.
Nealius Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 As an experiment I removed the terrain.cfg.lua.dll file from my root directory so the Repair would detect that it's missing, and download a new file. This resolved the problem.
