Sundowner.pl
Yup, that's our new "gunship", it's a prototype - a modified "slick" 0901. First of the 09xx series that were modified to NVGs use by the crew. The 'Gluszec' have full glass cockpit, FADEC enhanced engines, and few other things that you can see on these photos. What will change is the machine gun under the nose. There is project underway to make .50cal 3 barrel Gatling system similar to American GAU-19/A. There will be probably a whole new main rotor, probably 5 bladed. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "If a place needs helicopters, it's probably not worth visiting." - Nick Lappos
tflash
I think we have a serious candidate here for a Lockon:BS sequel! I find aeronautics companies should be legally obliged to offer a 3D-model of their work to the flightsim community! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
pschelchshorn
Id Prefer a HIND over it though..It looks tougher, meaner and can carry troops as well. Not as many but still.. urze
But, they did it. And they do not have to import it. That means hundreds of jobs in Poland are saved. Thats a good reason to love this machine! And as a sidenote: When you meet something like this as your opponent at the battlefield you would probably not start to think about how beautiful or ugly it is - when you do so - it will be your last thought. :) Leftside Limited - ideas and solutions

3Sqn_Fudd
It's gotta be FLIR ... plus laser designation possibly... that setup screams SAR or special ops delivery to me. Sundowner.pl
It is Elbit CoMPASS stabilized EO/IR targeting sight system. Polish Special Forces ? GROM, 1.st PSK and Formoza. I don't know if any SF will be specialized in CSAR missions, if so it will be the 1.st PSK (1 Pułk Specjalny Komandosów - 1st Special Commando Regiment) they're more like Green Berets, when GROM is more SFOD-D like. Formoza is our Combat Divers regiment, so I would count them out of that. Force_Feedback
It looks both cute, ugly and insect-like at the same time, but looks don't matter, nor do rocket pods (they look cool), all that matters are the aramid mats and ballistic glass. Maybe the gun, but I don't picture that thing doing CSAR with actual weapon employment, no transport chopper should, that's the job for the escorting choppers. But maybe times are changing and such multifunctionality actually has a real world use. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
TorwaK
Thanks for photos. Its nice and big, also very appropriate to transport soldiers, it means good news for Polish Armed Forces! But if you ask me it can't be a gunship cause of its a little bit awkward. In my opinion on the world there is only 5 gunships which are Denel Rooivalk, Eurocopter Tiger, Boeing Apache AH-64D Longbow, and Ka-52, Agusto A-129(İtalian version) T-129(Turkish version) Check out the links. Guest denneym1
I agree, not really a true attack helo, it just doesn't have the armament or armor to go behind the FLOT. Looks like its mainly a fire-support bird, like the old Huey ARA (Aerial Rocket Artillery) birds. MD
