D4n
when driving through a small river really fast, Avenger SAM instantly disappears instead of loosing 10% health per second for example... SUNTSAG
I don't wish to appear flippant here but the simple answer is trying to cross a river in any vehicle that wasn't specifically designed to do so is a no no and a bridge is the obvious choice here. I guess the vehicle de-spawns to avoid draw clutter in game. The technical answer is that the Avenger is part of the HMMWV group of vehicles and as such the .lua code does not include the "canSwim" functionality. It can be changed to incorporate this element as seen in the image below. (for illustration purposes only) I like the fact that vehicles will de-spawn if used beyond their natural parameters. It saves the sim trying to draw something stuck on the river bed. So losing life on a percentage basis would make no difference its going to de-spawn anyway, may as well be sooner rather than later IMHO. Until we get a vehicle group that can build a pontoon bridge stick to the ones available in sim. Please don't take this as me being rude its difficult to convey sentiment in the written form. D4n
but it's suuuuper annoying when you 1st person drive an avenger for 30 minutes in multiplayer, just to touch water and instantly vanish... msalama
Right. Start your car, drive it into a river and see how that goes. Why should DCS be any different? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

D4n
Because they are all the same (drove through plenty of rivers with a Tor, always been same to me) DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. SUNTSAG
Well you won't do that in a TOR anymore.... A standard HMMWV can ford water at low speeds, to a depth of 30 inches but with a military grade Snorkel it will ford water to a depth of 5 feet (that is my understanding). Anyway it does not matter regardless use bridges Shimples. Callsign: NAKED My YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
