Is it coming eventually yes? It is it worth getting excited about right now, nope. Maybe its just me but it's going to be a long time until DCS F-16 is released, no point imo getting excited right now, especially when we got so many interesting modules coming this year.

First, I'm not sure this person has a clue how popular the F-16 is and how many people are actually waiting for it to come to DCS.

 

Second, I know many people who have purchased modules they only dabble with nearly to support ED and their endeavors. Let's face it. $50.00 - $60.00 a month isn't really that much money to spend on your hobby in the grand scheme of things. Hell when I did model railroading I'd spend that much a WEEK sometimes.

 

I purchased the FA-18C because I like it. I'll purchase the F-14 because I like it. I'll purchase the F-4E because I like it. I'll purchase the F-16C because I WANT it.

That site isnt supported by ED in anyway, take anything posted there with many grains of salt. Also note the owner of that site is not fond of ED in many ways, I believe I am banned from their FB still lol... anyways, back on topic. The F-16C is coming, and it will be a HUGE success ;)

Wags mentioned the F-16 in the live feed too. I wouldn't hold your breath for this one though, it can and will take years to develop one.

 

Taking in account that previous mention about F-16 was 10 years ago, I wouldn't expect anything within 5 years.

I guess it is good to start teaching our children know how related to flight sims, because I guess at age of 60 the desires will be more ground toilet based than launching spamraams :D

All the aircraft they mention are NATO use..I am really disappointed by the approach.

Since DCS has not and won't offer a dynamic Campaign Generator and AI is in general in a very poor state, they should push all efforts on adversary aircraft! It is mandatory in the state the sim is atm.

And all of this in a "sandbox"? That is no sandbox, that is NATO aircraft dispaly museum..

As far as I know the Russian laws do not allow modeling of their jets. It might be so that the retired aircraft that belong to USSR era are not covered by those laws.

Please don't do the C model, a D would be much better. You can do everything in singleplayer like in the C but it opens a new world for coop online flying. A F-16D with terrain following could be used like a mini F-15E.
